Scientists Offer Quantum Theory of Soul's Existence

World-renowned quantum scientists say they can prove the existence of the soul.

American Dr. Stuart Hameroff and British physicist Sir Roger Penrose developed a quantum theory of consciousness asserting that our souls are contained inside structures called microtubules which live within our brain cells.

Their idea stems from the notion of the brain as a biological computer, "with 100 billion neurons and their axonal firings and synaptic connections acting as information networks".

Dr. Hameroff, Professor Emeritus at the Departments of Anesthesiology and Psychology and Director of the Centre of Consciousness Studies at the University of Arizona, and Sir Roger have been working on the theory since 1996.

They argue that our experience of consciousness is the result of quantum gravity effects inside these microtubules -- a process they call orchestrated objective reduction (Orch-OR).

In a near-death experience the microtubules lose their quantum state, but the information within them is not destroyed. Or in layman's terms, the soul does not die but returns to the universe.

Dr. Hameroff explained the theory at length in the Morgan Freeman-narrated documentary Through the Wormhole, which aired in the US by the Science Channel.

"'Let's say the heart stops beating, the blood stops flowing, the microtubules lose their quantum state," Dr. Hameroff said.

"The quantum information within the microtubules is not destroyed, it can't be destroyed, it just distributes and dissipates to the universe at large.

'If the patient is resuscitated, revived, this quantum information can go back into the microtubules and the patient says, "I had a near death experience".'

In the event of the patient's death, it was "possible that this quantum information can exist outside the body indefinitely -- as a soul".

Dr. Hameroff believes new findings about the role quantum physics plays in biological processes, such as the navigation of birds, adds weight to the theory.

Scientists Unveil Quantum Theory of Soul's Existence (More)

A near-death experience occurs when quantum substances which form the soul leave the nervous system and enter the universe at large, according to a ground-breaking theory proposed by two eminent scientists.

According to this idea, consciousness is a programme for a quantum computer in the brain which can persist in the universe even after death, explaining the perceptions of those who have near-death experiences.

Dr. Stuart Hameroff, Professor Emeritus at the Departments of Anesthesiology and Psychology and the Director of the Centre of Consciousness Studies at the University of Arizona, has advanced the quasi-religious theory, the Daily Mail reported.

It is based on a quantum theory of consciousness he and British physicist Sir Roger Penrose have developed which holds that the essence of our soul is contained inside structures called microtubules within brain cells.

They have argued that our experience of consciousness is the result of quantum gravity effects in these microtubules, a theory which they dubbed orchestrated objective reduction (Orch-OR).

Thus it is held that our souls are more than the interaction of neurons in the brain. They are in fact constructed from the very fabric of the universe and may have existed since the beginning of time.

The concept is similar to the Buddhist and Hindu belief that consciousness is an integral part of the universe -- and indeed that it is really all there may be, a position similar to Western philosophical idealism, the paper said.

With these beliefs, Hameroff holds that in a near-death experience the microtubules lose their quantum state, but the information within them is not destroyed. Instead it merely leaves the body and returns to the cosmos.

"Let's say the heart stops beating, the blood stops flowing, the microtubules lose their quantum state. The quantum information within the microtubules is not destroyed, it can't be destroyed, it just distributes and dissipates to the universe at large," Hameroff told the Science Channel's Through the Wormhole documentary.

"If the patient is resuscitated, revived, this quantum information can go back into the microtubules and the patient says 'I had a near death experience'," Hameroff said.

"If they're not revived, and the patient dies, it's possible that this quantum information can exist outside the body, perhaps indefinitely, as a soul," Hameroff added.

Sant Mat: The Path to Spiritual Consciousness, By Anand Rao

"Consciousness is the quality or state of being aware of an external object or something within one’s self. It is a person’s subjective experience of the world and the mind. Earlier scientists worked with external experience in physical space and this consciousness developed concepts of external objects and processes. Mind is a parameter of the inner worlds and Consciousness of inner worlds leads to Eternal Happiness. This paper, starting with simple explanations of Religion and Sant Mat, attempts to show that the consciousness of the matters of the inner world/worlds depend upon the spiritual advancement and with proper meditational practices one may achieve Ultimate Spiritual Consciousness and enjoy everlasting Supreme Bliss, Supreme Energy, Supreme Intelligence, and Supreme Refulgence of the Supreme Being. Sant Mat teaches simple and easy Meditational Practices within the easy reach of all human beings, to achieve Ultimate Spiritual Consciousness." -- Spircon 2013 Book of Abstracts:

I like to share the good news of the Gospel in word and deed to glorify Him. I like to meet people and have interesting discussions.
Introduction
Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Luke 6:37.

I have noticed that people often have a list of things in mind that I must do or not do to be their friend or acquaintance. Once I figure out what those things are ( if that is even possible ) then I decide whether I will make some effort to indulge these things or not. I try not to carry a list of my expectations to place on others so I usually forget what their list is and just be myself hoping that they will accept me for me as I accept them for them. I have found that some stop being my friend after a brief time while others accept me for who I am and remain my friend. There is no way to agree with everybody, but I made the choice to accept and forgive and to avoid judging and/or condemning others. While I am not perfect and I do not expect perfection from others Luke 6:37 is the standard of excellence that I hold myself to.

May the Lord bless you Google people.
