My final piece for The Boston Globe is also my longest story ever, one that I had on my mind for about four years. It's on Alcatraz, Bill Russell and a moment that nearly slipped through the cracks of time. I've never worked on anything as fun as this one. Hope you enjoy. http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2014/10/11/bill-russell-and-jones-treated-like-rock-stars-alcatraz/dYNqedPwyfFXNYHvGM84oN/story.html

Honored/flattered that The Washington Post mentioned me and my Esquire piece in an editorial on the Washington Redskins: http://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/redskins-name-gets-even-harder-for-daniel-snyder-to-defend/2014/07/28/3d3381a4-1375-11e4-9285-4243a40ddc97_story.html
Daniel Snyder is confronted with more compelling arguments on why the Redskins name must go.

Kind of a fun one. The history of the Celtics' notorious workout drill known as "The Boston Marathon" http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2014/06/03/cnotes/10zwIMucqPgKlVpJ6NK1UJ/story.html

Here's my story from inside the lottery drawing room, where the ping-pong balls danced: http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2014/05/20/cavaliers-surprisingly-awarded-top-pick-again/IQMVbMKmNXhnOSardJph8O/story.html #NBA
The first overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft, held June 26, fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers, even though they had just a 1.7 percent chance at landing that pick.

Life update: After nearly two years covering the Boston Celtics for The Boston Globe, I'm moving back to Los Angeles to cover the LA Lakers/ NBA for ESPN. I can't say enough about the Globe. It's an incredible place to work. My final story there will be published soon, likely in the coming days. On a side note, my 617 number is now out of commission. In the process of getting new digits...

Spent a week in Texas working on my latest longform piece, where Celtics rookie Marcus Smart and I returned to the Dallas suburb where he grew up. "“This is a place,” says the 20-year-old Celtics rookie guard and top draft choice, “that you don’t want to come back to.” http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2014/09/28/smart/nqpr3bsP2P3t8RqGdXXX5O/story.html

Had a lot of fun with this feature from ‪#‎louisville‬ on Rajon Rondo and his basketball camp, which he calls the best in America: http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2014/07/10/rajon-rondo-basketball-camp-has-special-feel/ypIgfHKRlsdWQ59i0GYcpK/story.html
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The line to Rajon Rondo’s basketball camp starts forming around 7:45 a.m. Scores of boys and girls ages 6 through 16 don Celtics No. 9 jerseys and shirts, green socks, shorts, shoes, wristbands, and headbands. Around 8 a.m., the MidAmerica Sports Centerfacility, opens its doors. Then an hour later, another day at Camp Rondo, now in its eighth year, begins. The campers file onto the main court, where a large banner of Rondo dribb...

This is one of the tougher stories I've written, but it was an honor to write it. Thirty years ago, the Celtics drafted Dan Trant. He died on 9/11. Today, his sons visit Ground Zero: http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2014/06/24/sons-remember-dan-trant/FnZi4BJ8k8Hbm29NgCYvkM/story.html

During his trip, he stayed at a luxury hotel on Boylston Street, dined at an upscale restaurant in the Seaport District, grabbed lunch on the patio at a sports bar outside of Fenway Park, and attended a rooftop party at a hotel near the Boston Common late Sunday.
