Very cool beer pub in a converted garage. Atmosphere is great and they even brew most of the beers on site. Huge selection of brews on tap and the sampler is a great way to try out a bunch. The beer is seriously delicious, no wonder its regarded as starting the microbrewery movement. The food was also pretty good. I enjoyed the burger very much. The staff was fairly slow though and disappeared for a while. Amazing beer!

They have an amazing mac n cheese here, and let me tell you I know mac n cheese. It's "Cavatappi pasta tossed in a rich stout cream sauce with grilled red onion, baby spinach and sharp white cheddar cheese topped with bread crumbs." The mix of the sharp cheese plus the veggies makes a delicious mac n cheese. It fills me up and I normally have half of it left still to take home. I also enjoy their brews a lot. The Black Butte Porter is one of the most drinkable porters that I have had.

Ahhh Deschutes, my first craft brew lover! Before moving to Portland I fell in love with such beers as Mirror Pond, Red Chair NWPA, and Chainbreaker White IPA. Deschutes Public House became my go-to "good craft beer" place in downtown. With 20+ beers to choose from, there's always a few that will satisfy your needs. I recommend Deschutes to anyone wanting to explore craft beer and visitors. If you lived in Portland, venture out of Deschutes and you'll find much more exploratory and interesting options at the smaller scale breweries on the east side. Beer: 4 stars Service: 4 stars Food: 1 star

Every time we are there the food is perfect, never an off day. Great servers, who always take the best care of the table. Jill Ramseier is the Executive Chef, she made time to stop by our table and talk with our family on Valentines Day. You know the food is good when your 5yr old takes a bite of crab and tells you "That's amazing!" Thank you so much Jill!!

This is one of the restaurants that are a must stop place in Portland. Another place with excellent beer, good food, and a great crowd. This restaurant handles crowds very well, especially considering most people cram themselves into the bar area. Better yet, if you happen to wander in during lunch time, you are more than likely not going to have trouble getting a seat. They also have a VERY good gluten-free section and I love their salads (this inspired me to start squeezing lemon on my salad).

Went here for the first time tonight. The place was PACKED on a Tuesday and I see why. We waited about 20 minutes for a table but it was worth it. Even with a million people there the service was great. The food was excellent. I hadn't eaten all day and was starving so our server brought us an appetizer of fries for free to keep me alive until the food showed up. Of course the beer was top notch. I highly recommend giving this place a try.
