We wanted to have a special dinner to celebrate our anniversary last Friday night - made a reservation and then stopped by during the day to request a special table which the hostess graciously assured us she marked down and would be taken care or. When we arrived at the restaurant, a different hostess said every table was special and did not even look into our request, she placed us at a table for two in the middle of a noisy room. Dinner service was slow and the food less than average and very expensive - we travel a lot and appreciate a good meal and certainly willing to pay for one but this was very disappointing. My husband's beef dish was very fatty and barely edible. My roasted vegetables were truly less than impressive - not too much effort was put into that meal. We purchased a 1/2 bottle of wine that the following night we purchased a full bottle at the same price - also at a Carmel restaurant. We will not go there again and will not recommend it to our friends.

Despite being loud & excessively priced ($33 for a small pasta w/ no sides), the food was mediocre if that. The sun-dried tomato dip for the breadsticks & the scallops were tasty. "Artisan" bread cost $5. The gnocchi was greasy. The cappellini was thick & the balsamic taste was overpowering. First, it was sprinkled w/ shaved cheese (not described on the menu) so I sent it back. The Christmas lights were unappealing.

If you have no reservation, definitely give it a try. We got this place recommended by a different (booked) restaurant and Casanova was able to squeeze us in on a Saturday night. The Linguini with Sea Food were awesome! The wine list is not a list, it's a book, lots of choices, very impressing! Very kind, thoughtful and kids-friendly (!) service.

Very romantic spot - the decor is charming, and the patio is great for lunch. But crucially, it's not only about appearances as the food doesn't disappoint at all! I had a fantastic grilled artichoke (accompanied by a terrific red pepper aioli), followed by a superlative lamb ragu pappardelle (beautiful pasta, tender lamb, great sauce and mushrooms). Service was friendly and effective. Would come back without hesitation.

Oh my goodness, this was heaven. We had a team dinner here, and every dish we tried was excellent, and I think we tried them all. The service was excellent, they accommodated our like for sharing and trying different dishes. I am so looking forward to be back.

Loved my lunch here! I had the catch of the day, a very well cooked salmon with potatoes and artichokes, a glass of red wine and as a "dessert", a tasting of artisan cheese and fruit. The ambiance is fantastic, ideal for a romantic dinner or lunch, with a Mediterranean flair.
