Softly came the dawn this Shabbat morning with bright golden streaks of sunlight crisscrossing the fields. A day of music, meditation and rest as the day warms into the 60’s. A day that reminds us that the Spring will soon come.

Friday dawns gray and wet. The rain will end soon and bring in very mild temperatures next week. We had the first flood warning of the year, but thankfully, it was a rather disappointing flood. It is another stay inside day of writing and sipping coffee. Darn, darn, darn …

Shabbat morning dawns overcast and drizzly at 34°F. The Charlie Ebdo story subsides and pundits now pummel their viewers with collective guilt.  They opine that poverty and isolation are the root causes of Islamic violence, rather than a flawed ideology that apparently feels that their Allah has no legs or arms, and so He needs His little armed Jihadist to carry out His will.
And I? Nah … I am not accepting any guilt for their hatred. I think that this day I shall just sip coffee and watch the world events parade by my windows.
