5 + stars. Beautiful to sleep on a bluff near the ocean. Make reservations early. We were lucky enough to happen upon this gem when there were 2 cancellations. The Rangers were friendly and very accommodating. There's a great trail where the river runs into the ocean on the northside of the park and a magnificent waterfall. Lots of cute crabs and beautiful sea anemones around the ocean's craggy rocks. Just breathtaking.

This park is great for camping. Took the kids and they had a blast. There are over 20 camp sites to choose from. The area is beautiful.

My wonderful partner, Roland, took me to Limekiln for my 45th birthday. It was marvelous. We had site #15 by the river. The hiking was great. The cute little bats flew int the campsite all evening and morning. I loved them! I'd love to go back again.

My fiancé and I just camped here over the weekend and it was amazing. The site locks the gates around sunset and doesn't open again till 7am, this may be due to construction on the 1 at this time and the roads are closed from 10pm till 7am. We didn't have a reservation ahead of time which we all know is risky traveling through Big Sur because sites fill up quickly but the camp had 2 sites open. There are essentially two main areas to the camp site: beach and redwoods, we stayed in the redwoods, which was perfect. There's a river/creek that runs through the campsite to the beach and is just absolutely lovely to fall asleep to. Firewood is 8$ and each site has a pit to use. Showers are also available before sunset and there are two shorter trails that are easy to hike in the morning (we hiked both trails within an hour and a half stopping along the way to take pictures and hang out at the falls). All in all this site was amazing and I would definitely recommend/ return to it's beauty.

We reserved the ocean view campground for two nights. That site is very dirty with lots of moscitos. I will never go back. We stayed only for two minutes!

We had the greatest time camping here this past weekend. The views were amazing and we had the best camp site. The employees were extremely helpful and accommodating as well since we arrived late on Friday. I would highly recommend this campsite, it was just a bummer we couldn't have a campfire :(

Why pay over the top to stay in a box when you can enjoy the 'penthouse' suite (site #1) at Limekiln with a panaramic view of the coast and cove, hot showers and, well, cold showers under the waterfall (think non-tropical). One caveat: check out the Marine forecast, 40 mph gusts forced us to take down our 10-person tent and relocate into the redwoods. A hike to the lime kilns is recommended. Here is where the lime was manufactured for those 19th century brick and mortar buildings in San Francisco. Now that this review is published, all the more important to reserve in advance.
