Several 2nds at the Arnolfini tonight - Andy Keep, Stuart Chalmers and Seth Cooke will be performing and discussing the various uses of 'objects' in various kinds of music.
An evening of demonstrations and short performances exploring movements away from the constraints of traditional musical 'notes' and rhythmic patterns.

Introduction

Bang the Bore is a loose collective organised around the site bangthebore.org, involved in organising concerts around the UK, promoting and releasing music and anything else that seems like a good idea.

Since we began in Southampton in 2009 we’ve staged concerts featuring John Butcher, Ashtray Navigations, Team Brick, Mark Sanders, Spoils & Relics, The A Band, Temperatures, Mark Durgan, Bolide, Ryan Jordan, Bad Orb, Gokkun, The Rick Jensen Trio, Deepkiss720, Cementimental, Mindfuckingboy vs Kismet and Annie Lewandowski’s Powerdove. We’ve also supported the work of local Southampton musicians such as Ignacio Agrimbau’s The Hola and After the Rain ensembles, Dogeeseseegod, Dead Wood, No Context, Quamvis Sum Parva, Ni Dieux Ni Maitre and Magnus Spectrum.

We made our website so we could write about music (and whatever else we reckon is important), connect people, facilitate collaborations and share information. Anyone can get involved, just send us an email.
