Coffee and Chat has been registered as a location for the Big Latch On 2012! Join us tomorrow to participate in the event. The event is at 10.30am but please come earlier to ensure you have time to register and get settled.

A Big Latch On is a lot of fun! Groups of breastfeeding women come together at registered locations around the world, at a set time they all latch on their child for one minute while being counted by witnesses. The numbers are added up and see if we beat previous Big Latch On records or maybe even the world record!

If you have any birth stories, photos or articles for the Autumn Newsletter please send them to newsletter@basingstokenct.org.uk by 10th August. Thanks

NCT Big Push Basingstoke - This Weekend

The forecast is currently looking warm and dry for our sponsored buggy push on Sun 1st July. We are meeting at 11am in The War Memorial Park at the top of Crossborough Hill. If you would like to join us then tomorrow (Fri 29th) is the deadline for registering at http://selfservice.nct.org.uk/
, or just email me at chair@basingstokenct.org.uk. The walk is a 5 Km traffic-free route around the perimeter of the park and starts at 11.30am. Emma from Buggy Fit has kindly agreed to come along and take us through a gentle warm-up before we start so come in plenty of time for that.

We also have Waterbabies coming to organise a toddler olympics competition with prizes for competitors and Usborne Books will be there with a stall to browse. There will also be a fantastic raffle with prizes donated by Hasbro toys, and crafts for the children. Bring along a picnic and come and join us, even if your children are too big for a buggy they are still welcome to walk or run the route with you or just join us for a fun afternoon of activities in the park.

See you there.
Jackie

Do you have a baby aged under 5 months? Have you heard about the postnatal (Early Days) courses available through NCT?

They are a great place to meet other new mums and talk about the joys and challenges you are experiencing in a comfortable and relaxed place.

If you are interested, this is where you can book on to the next course which starts on Monday 16th July http://www.nct.org.uk/course/14227438

Big Push Basingstoke - Sun 1st July

Just 10 days to go until our big sponsored buggy push event in the War Memorial Park. If you haven't registered yet then please go to www.basingstokenct.org.uk and click on the Big Push button. The route is a 5Km traffic free circuit of the park. You can walk or run the route using a buggy or sling, it is up to you. Come along at 11am to sign in and join in a warm up before we start at 11.30am.

All money raised will help support parents both locally and nationally who are suffering from postnatal illness. Exercise is one of the best ways to help combat baby blues so we are hoping to get as many people as possible walking or running round the park with their little ones. There will be stalls and a wonderful raffle on the day as well as races for the kids with some great prizes, so bring a picnic and stay with us and join in the fun.

Any questions feel free to email me at chair@basingstokenct.org.uk
