Really disappointed - style over substance. We booked Hotel Lucia as a "luxury" and "boutique" stop-off before a series of motels on our recent road trip around the Pacific North West so we had high hopes for something special. Our disappointment started when we arrived just after the craft beer reception had finished. We were looking forward to this and whilst being late was our fault we hoped the staff might give us a beer at the bar as we'd paid for this as part of our room rate. Nope, we were told better luck tomorrow and that was that. Then there was the disappointment over the room. We paid ~$250 a night to stay here and were expecting something special. The bedroom itself was very nicely and stylishly decorated but that's where the good things ended. The bathroom was like something out of a cheap motel and the view, was of air conditioning exhausts - we didn't bother to open the curtains once after we saw what it was. Now you can't expect every room to be perfect but for $250 a night I expected much more than the service and room we got. We got far more for less in other city centre hotels on our recent trip.

Amazing experience! Excellent customer service and incredible amenities. Free beer during daily happy hour, well stocked mini bar, super comfy bed and pillows, and very helpful/friendly staff.

This is a wonderful hotel. I travel to SD on business and Sofia is located very close to the court. As other reviewers noted, it's cute and clean and provides great service. What really makes this an outstanding hotel is the restaurant, Currant. My compliments to the chef, management, staff, etc. etc. Even though they don't have room service, you can order take-out at the bar. The bartender was super-nice and helpful.

Hotel staff was amazing. Hotel is beautifully decorated and rooms, while small, are cute and have everything you need. So much more intimate than a large chain.

The Hotel Lucia is visually appealing and the service is wonderful. The only thing that was off putting was the size of the bathrooms. If you're claustrophobic and dont like small spaces i would reccomend another hotel.

This hotel has impeccable style, absolutely outstanding service and the restaurant that they work with has arguably one of the best burgers I've ever had! The staff was friendly, super animated and had great tips on what to do around town (did I mention they have a Beer Hour?-FREE beer!). I fell in love with Portland and this place was a huge part of the reason.

One of the best hotels to stay in portland in my opinion. Great customer service, great location, free beer in the evening, free WiFi, free water and tea. These may sound like things all hotels should have these days but trust me the Hilton downtown does not. Love this place, great restaurant attached.

Hotel Lucia provides the art deco vibe that much of Portland has to offer. I'll be honest, we didn't know what to expect in our first visit to Portland but Hotel Lucia did not disappoint. From the moment we stepped through those doors we were greeted endlessly with the hospitality that only one can expect from such a wonderful hotel. First impressions are everything and what better way than to be greeted with a nice pint of a local beer right in the lobby! Let me tell you, this will not be the last time we visit Portland nor Hotel Lucia!

Love this review of Imperial and wishing Ruth a very happy 92nd year! http://ow.ly/10kMtz #portlandhotel #hotelportland #besthotelportland #bestrestaurantportland
Remember when hotel restaurants used to be nondescript places wedged into big buildings and seemingly their sole purpose was to capture the spending dollars of hotel guests? Used to be, when I’d be sent on business trips, the last place I’d think to eat would be at my hotel (except the time I was put...Read More »
