For Simon Smith - I wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten about you and your request for a paperback version of my book.  It's taken a while, but we've finally finished it and it's now available.

Thanks!

Horst

Just joint your community in the hope to learn something about book marketing..
My first book covers the final weeks in Berlin in 1945 before it surrendered to the Soviet forces. It is presently available in the kindle edition
My second book covers the first few days in Berlin after the surrender. It will be released in the beginning of September.
The books are based upon my experiences during that time.
No literary license has been taken.

Hi, I just joined this community and published my first book.
It is about the last few days of WW II in Berlin.
No glorification of war. Just a simple, but,  true story of a 14 year old survivor. I sincerely invite any comments.

Maybe a helpful announcement?
As a survivor of the onslaught on Berlin in 1945 by the Soviet forces I am in the position to answer questions regarding this forgotten time.
There are not to many of us left who are still able to talk about it.
Here is your opportunity to ask detailed questions.
Some of the answers might surprise you.

Hi, I am new to this community and I just published my first book on kindle select and would like to share a few thoughts:
I have a simple three (3) year plan to become noticed as an author.
The first year will consist of just writing.
The second year I will adjust my writing in accordance with the results from the first year .
The third year I will adjust the subject of my writing to then prevailing   taste of the reading public.
During these three years I will outsource the editing and proof reading.
Also the formatting , publishing details, book trailer videos, and cover design will be (and is already ) outsourced.
Furthermore I also outsourced the promotion of the books.
My first book is part of a three book series covering the last few days of WWII in Berlin. The second book covers events after the surrender to the Soviets..
The third book covers events in cooperation with the Soviet's KGB.
The books are written from the perspective of a 14 year old member of the Hitler Youth.. All of the events are true. I took no literary license. Yes, I am 82 years old and know what I am writing about.
The name of the first book is: Loyal to a degree.
Any advise to a new author is more than welcome.

I recently published my first book in a series that I'm writing based on true events that took place in my life as a young boy in Germany during World War II.  Loyal To A Degree is about the days leading up to the fall of Berlin.

If you get a chance to read it, please come back and let me know what you think of it.  I would love to hear your comments!

I was a young boy living in Germany during World War II and I recently published a book based on true events that took place in my life during  the days leading up to the fall of Berlin.  The book is very different from other books published about the war because it is written from the perspective of a 14 year old boy.

If you are interested in historical facts about the fall of Berlin and what life was like for those of us who actually lived through it, then I believe you will enjoy reading "Loyal To A Degree."

I was a young boy in Germany during World War II.  I recently published my first book based on true events that took place in my life in the days leading up to the fall of Berlin.  There have been many books written about the war, both fiction and non-fiction, but none that have been written from the perspective of a 14 year old German boy.

I think it's important that people today have a chance to understand different perspectives about the war, especially from people who lived through it.  If you get a chance to read the book, I would love to get your feedback on it.
