I'm extremely puzzled. I've been getting lots of notifications from Google+ about people putting me in their circles. These are people I do not know, and all of them are men. This has been going on for a while now (on the order of months). I didn't think anything of it at first, because I can obviously choose not to add them to my circles -- and I haven't. But it happened again just tonight, and I'm beginning to wonder if I should be concerned.

This is perhaps the coolest April Fools' "prank" I have ever seen, right up there with the kid who got lots of people for his cardboard arcade.

Here's the first new post to my blog since August. Maybe I should have been more serious than "Consider getting back to blogging" when I wrote that resolution. Heh.

I've been a little frustrated with myself over letting my blogging at Joyful Discoveries fall off to pretty much nothing over the last month. Then I sat down and thought about how much writing I've been doing for the South Lake Tablet, especially over the last six days. Aha, so that's where all my writing energy went! It's really hard for me to be too upset over this; I like writing for the Tablet, and even better, I'm getting paid for it. :-)

Well, this is a bit peculiar. I just tried to add my blog to my Google+ Profile, and Google claimed that the link was not a valid URL. It clearly is, however. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Talk about custom search! Google showed me a customized logo today because it's my birthday. Sweet. :-)

Okay, so I'm seeing this icon on the left with the word "new" next to it, and it's labeled "Communities." I think I have some idea of what it is (I may be a relative newbie to Google+ given how little I've used it, but I'm not a total newbie to online social networking; I did that before we had that name for it!). My questions are: have you joined any communities? Which ones? Have you found them useful, and if so, how? Yep, it's another case of me hunting for information. (Which means I should probably share something interesting I've found in my next post). Chime in! :-)

I'm beginning to believe these days that the reason you see a light bulb over the head of cartoon characters when they get an idea is because of the innovation taking place in light bulbs lately. Here's a link to the latest example: http://www.latinospost.com/articles/7734/20121204/new-plastic-light-bulbs-flicker-free-replacements.htm

I've been away from actively using Google+ for a while, but I've decided to come back to it -- mostly for professional reasons, but I also have a good group of friends here. So I want to throw out a couple of questions to you all. First question: what is your favorite improvement to Google+ since April of this year?

If you've ever wanted to know anything about that plane flying overhead, there's now a search for that.
