great food, relaxed environment. best mozzarella sticks I have ever had and one of my best pulled pork sandwiches I have ever had. The wings were also really good! Definitely coming back here!

Service was abysmal. She did not know the cobbler flavor. She never gave us the extra bbq but charged. The entree was ok but the cobbler was bad. It was not cobbler, it was cake. Ordered tea and she brought sweet tea without asking.

The charm of the Pit is cheap drinks and really good food. Seriously one of the last places you can get a beer and shot for $5. Fun place for a lunchtime drink of happy hour.

I work nearby and this is a go-to spot after work. I also come on weekends to watch football. It is nearly entirely empty during football games, which is ridiculous. There are plenty of TVs, and a huge projector. Buckets of 5 PBRs are $10. Hard to beat, especially in Chelsea. All of the food is great bar food. I love their wings. Hot garlic is the best flavor, and Boss Hog. But there are plenty of flavors so go nuts. I have also tried plenty of their apps and lunch sandwiches and they are all great. The staff is super cool. I went recently to watch football and the bartender working gave me some song and dance about not being able to change the channel, so I left. But, I am writing this assuming that was a fluke. If it turns out that it wasn't, not only will I be devastated at losing my absolute favorite place to watch football games, I would definitely drop the rating from 5 stars. I hope for the best though. Also darts and pool are available here.

I learned an interesting lesson here about the perception of British visitors to New York. There's an assumption Brits don't tip - so why bother with the service. As a result, we don't tip, because the service is rubbish, and so the service gets even worse... you can see how this would snowball. Pity, because it's not a bad place. But once you've sat at the bar, being ignored for twenty minutes as you try to give people money, the charm kind of fades. Oh, and we did tip - but mainly out of bloody-mindedness, to make a point. So in fact we gave someone money for nothing at all. Which perhaps is entirely the purpose of tourism to New York.
