On most Current Loop testers the current in the loop is indicated and can be set. However, the current in the loop represents a physical value so the current needs to be converted to this physical value. The new Divize A2007U current loop tester can be operated by your smartphone through a wireless NFC interface. The conversion from physical value to a current is integrated in the software on the smartphone. Simulating a 4-20 mA loop was never this easy, just set the desired temperature and check your PLC, DCS system, display or whatever is hooked to the 4-20 mA loop.

Divize has added a new calculation tool to the Divize website. This calculator is designed to calculate the voltage drop in a 4-20 mA current loop system. Long cables can cause a significant voltage drop which can cause malfunction of the loop. The allows to select different cable sizes and length to calculate the voltage drop at different current, a warning is displayed when the voltage is to low to operate the loop.

The Namur NE43 recommendation for 4-20mA analog signals is not new. However more and more systems are available which comply to this Namur NE43 recommendation. DIVIZE has made a page which gives a short explanation how a 4-20mA input on a PLC or DCS system can be tested to comply with this Namur NE43 specification. It also gives a explanation how the software on the PLC and DCS system can be tested according the Namur NE43 specification.
