Interesting F1 politics blog post (http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/andrewbenson/2011/06/circuits_weigh_into_engine_row.html). Given the worrying thought that the remainder of the 2011 season may drift into tedium, if last weekends race was anything to go by at least, one wonders if anything good is on the horizon. "Bring back refuelling" - that's what I say :-)!

Falling Sky's episode 1. Oh dear, another lame SciFi tv series I'll watch to the bitter end hoping it will get better, but knowing secretly knowing it won't.

Maybe it's just Starbucks coffee these days, but even with an extra shot, it just tastes of milk!

Dropped by here for a weeknight dinner recently. I'd say it was "ok, but not great food. Beer quality and service really good". Beer (Ringwood 49nr & T.E.A.) were both very nice. Service was really good - polite and reasonably prompt, although suspect it might go a little haywire if the place got really busy. I had a 8oz steak, ordered medium rare, which ended up being served rare/blue. Still, I ate it rather than send it back because I was hungry, don't mind rare beef, and I'd already covered it in a rather over-dilled Béarnaise (don't think there should be any Dill in Béarnaise?) before I discovered the error. There was a specials board, but none of it really excited, and the normal menu is too limited for anything more than infrequent visits (which is a shame given its also a hotel). Still, if you want a good pint of beer, in a decent country pub, give it a go.
