My daughter had just graduated from Dental Hygienist School, and she suggested Grill Marks, as a place to dine. They served me virtually a raw hambuger - not even rare. The place was busy, and we waited half an hour to be seated, no big deal, and good for them to be busy. The menu was okay and prices seemed reasonable for a sit down burger place. We ordered and it did appear to take a long time for our order to come, seemed like 45 minutes to an hour. My burger came later than everyone else's, still no big deal. I got my burger and took a bite and to my surprise it was not cooked - It was only cooked on the outside but was clearly "raw" on the inside. I had asked for my burger medium which should have been barely pink, not raw. They were decent about it, they took it away and cooked me another burger, but by then the other 5 people in my group were done with their meals. The manager did apologize and brought the next burger himself. I would expect better service from a burger place where our bill for 5 people was over 100.00 dollars.

All I ever get at Grill Marks is the hamburger on a gluten-free bun with cheddar cheese and onion, plus or minus a strawberry milkshake, and it's always good. The package is about $3 too expensive, in my opinion, but that's downtown Greenville for ya. Decent service in an environment that some might call "lively," and others might call "noisy." I'm a carryout customer.

Not your typical burger experience, in a good way. This is the best burger place Downtown Greenville has to offer. You can get your burger as simple, or as upscale as you like. There's tons of burgers to choose from. All delicious. There's even some vegetarian options so no one's left out. Super cool atmosphere and every waiter I've had has always been super helpful and so nice. It's never taken more than 15 minutes for my burger to come out. Highly recommend.

The service was great and the firehouse burger was fantastic with the chipotle ketchup. Don't forget to try the chocolate chilli bacon shake. Sounds pretty weird but turns out to be five dollars well spent.

Here's the scoop on Grill Marks: Keep your wallet in mind that everything is a la carte, like a Ruth Chris. (and no lunch specials offered) My burger with a side of white truffle fries was $17.00! The burger was good but a lot of bread and little meat. Grill Marks may be suitable for downtown Greenville folks but they're building a new location in Columbia, my hometown. Their management will need to re-think their menu prices if they want to succeed in Columbia, an already saturated burger market.

We live downtown and enjoy going to this establishment. It amazes me to read the less than stellar reviews because it just doesn't seem like it could possibly be the same place we know and love! We have had a number of different servers, all good! My son loves the cafe' au poivre burger, my daughter the foghorn leghorn, my husband gets the perfectly dressed burger and I, having just gone gluten free, have most recently fallen in love with the portobello napoleon! I was surprised to learn that all but two items on the menu can be prepared gluten free! The white truffle parmesan fries are a family favorite.... and I seldom waste a calorie on a french fry if I don't just love it! These are worth every calorie! We have seldom been bothered to wait a bit for a table, especially since they will text you when your table is ready, so we just take a stroll through our beautiful Greenville. Last night we arrived about an hour or two before the fireworks display was to begin... yes, on July 4th! We were told the wait could be up to an hour.... 10 - 15 minutes later, we were seated! We had made friends while waiting, so we had them join us! No problem on the restaurant's part to accommodate two more people to our party!! We enjoyed a fabulous meal and were still able to catch the fireworks! Our experience was amazing in every way!

When my burger finally arrived there was no pickles or tomato as I requested. The "aged cheddar" seemed a bit cheap. We had no napkins or silverware. Took some time before the waitress noticed us in need of something. As a matter of fact another gentleman had already spotted us and began to ask what we needed just before she arrived. She finally brought back my vegetables and our 3 napkins for the four of us. She then proceeded to make the statement that she brought us "extra" napkins as requested even though we had none to begin with. Once I got my burger together, took a couple bites to realize it was not well done as requested. Couldn't believe it as we all ordered our burgers well done, it took some time for them to arrive at the table but mine was still pink. I finally had her attention again, told her about the burger and said I was no longer interested. She carted the burger off and took it off our bill. I was not impressed with the bites I took. Fries were disappointing as well. Ordered the "skinny" fries which come in a mini fryer basket. They place paper in it to absorb the grease yet they stuff a lot of the paper in the bottom of the basket, giving the impression there are more fries than there actually are. My nephew ordered the sliders kids meal. He could not east his second slider so I reluctantly ate it to avoid waste after my wife insisted. It was not that good at all. My wife said she thought her burger was good though she did agree that even Ruby Tuesday and TGIFriday's actually make better burgers. Will not be going back.

This was a fantastic burger experience. They have something for anyone. Veggie burgers and Portabella burgers for vegetarians and nearly everything on the menu can be gluten free for those with allergies. They really do a nice job with the gluten free. The staff are very nice and helpful. I love the NoWait service, where you can log in online, then shop or tour downtown and you will get a text when the table is ready. The milkshake was very good and the burgers were outstanding. The gluten free bun was delicious, the regular bun was fantastic as well. Make sure to get some parmesan truffle fries (also gluten free) or some pimento cheese fries. All in all, this was a great experience and comes with my highest recommendation.
