Today was my last day at Collabora, next week I will start my new job at Bromium! http://blog.barisione.org/2015-03/bye-bye-collabora/
Seven years ago, immediately after finishing my master's degree, I visited Cambridge for an “interview” with Collabora. I was hired and, shortly afterwards, I moved to Cambridge. It has been seven great years since then, even if there were some low points, like when Nokia cancelled some of their ...

My company is looking for a few people to hire. In particular Linux developers, but also a project manager and a finance and operations assistant. Note that most of the positions don't require you to be in Cambridge as most of my colleagues work from home (even from abroad).
If you are interested read https://www.collabora.com/about-us/careers.html and then contact me in private.

More on +Frederic Plourde and +Emilio Pozuelo Monfort's work to shift Firefox to entirely client-side rendering; of huge value in and of itself, but also another great step towards Wayland.

Is there a way not to get on Google+ whatever I post on YouTube?

Yes, split your G+ and YouTube profiles.  Google can tell you how.

I've blogged about the web browser +Collabora Ltd. worked on for the new +Raspberry Pi 2!
Today the Raspberry Pi Foundation announced a new model of the Raspberry Pi! While the new Raspberry Pi looks almost identical to the previous one, it's much more powerful (and with four cores instead of one) and costs just $35. Here at Collabora we have worked together with the Raspberry Pi ...

Great job, #opensource community. You have certainly done an excellent job of disproving +Lennart Poettering's suggestions that open source communities can often be excessively mean-spirited, negative and insulting by leaping to the task of posting mean-spirited, negative and personally insulting comments about him all over the internet.

We have just released a browser optimised for the Raspberry Pi!
As I previously mentioned, Collabora has been working with the Raspberry Pi Foundation on various projects including a web browser optimised for the Raspberry Pi. Since the first beta release we have made huge improvements; now the browser is more responsive, it's faster, and videos work much ...

At the moment there's a memory pressure implementation in WebKit that is merged upstream.
For releasing tabs we don't use that as the kernel currently in raspbian doesn't have the right configuration. There's just a hard coded value in in epiphany. In the longer term we want to do it properly.

We just released Maynard, a Wayland desktop shell for the Raspberry Pi!
In the last year or so, Collabora has been working with the Raspberry Pi Foundation on a web browser and on Wayland. See Daniel's and Pekka's blog posts about their Wayland work. To make Wayland on the Raspberry Pi actually usable, we needed a shell, but lightweight desktop environments (like ...

+Alberto Mardegan Intel's Open Source Technology Center have had a longstanding interest in improving the quality of the free desktop, both for enabling purchases of devices with Intel chips and for offering software solutions that run them (such as Moblin, MeeGo, Tizen, Android etc.). Intel did a lot of work on the 'first round' of fixing this so it's little surprise that they wanted to do more.

I wrote a blog post about the current political situation in Italy.
I read a few good articles in English about the latest elections in Italy, but they all seemed a bit unclear about what can actually happen and what cannot happen. I hope this post can be easy to unde...

Bureaucracy is highly politicised in Italy. Without a government you will have a lot of greedy public servants put there by Berlusconi that will do whatever they think is good for their personal interest.
