Truly sad.
Holy crap -- that's really all I have to say about this: “a child born into slavery in 1860 was more likely to be raised by his mother and father in a two-parent household than was an African-American baby born after the election of the USA’s first African-American President” Good Lord! (I guess I needed to say that, too.)

LAUNCH is good.
In case you haven't noticed, my TechCrunch "viable co-exister" LAUNCH is now publishing one startup profile a day. The concept here is to really get to know a product, the company, their competitors, investors and team. Then write that up as efficiently as we can for your consumption.

This was what folks did before blogging... they invested a day or two writing a profile of a company so that the reader, and the company, got a fair and accurate idea of what the goals, dreams and reality of the opportunity was.

This is what's missing from blogging in my mind, especially blogs that threaten entrepreneurs (I'm just saying).

I'd like to build the anti-TECHCRUCNH over the next year... and I need five more writers in order to do that (and get to five or six profiles, serious pieces a day). I'm hoping at some point an +MG Siegler, +erick schonfeld or +Alexia Tsotsis shakes from TechCrunch and wants to own serious equity in a new brand.

There is nothing better for a writer than owning 5-10% of the media property they are writing for.

Read the profiles here and please give me some honest feedback:
