The Maranatha Baptist University Library catalog is now searchable in WISCAT. The catalog joins others in the "Academic Library Catalogs (except UW)" folder. The University previously had their holdings in the Union Catalog.

A Z39.50 connection to the host library catalog enables the WISCAT interlibrary loan management software to check current shelf status of items automatically. If the item is not available (checked out, on hold, etc.) the request moves onto the next potential lender.

Suggestions for more Ztargets? Not seeing the new Ztarget? Is the Ztarget visible but doesn't have a check mark in the box next to it? Let us know! For assistance fill out our Contact Us form at https://dpi.wi.gov/rl3/resources/resource-sharing/contact-us or contact your public library system staff.

Go behind the scenes at the +Darien Library as they develop and launch #SOPAC3 and attempt to "bring a little magic back into the library catalog."

Changes to EBSCO’s Whitelist for Firewalls & Proxy Servers Coming in July

If your organization restricts system access to particular IP addresses - also known as “whitelisting,” read on for information about changes coming from EBSCO and how you may be affected.

BadgerLink, Wisconsin’s Online Library, subscribes to many EBSCO databases (http://badgerlink.dpi.wi.gov/ebsco) which your patrons, students, and staff may be using for research. In an effort to provide the best possible response times to these subscriptions and services, in July 2016, EBSCO is making adjustments to their technical infrastructure. To accomplish this, the services will be delivered from a much larger range of IP addresses and they will no longer be able to provide a list of the IP addresses used by their servers.

Organizations who utilize whitelists will need to change their configurations to utilize domain names instead. An updated list of domains is available here:http://support.ebsco.com/knowledge_base/detail.php?id=966&t=h.

This page is also included in the BadgerLink Set-Up Guide (http://badgerlink.dpi.wi.gov/sites/default/files/imce/documents/badgerlinkset-upguide.pdf).

Let me know if you have any questions.
