This is more than just a "feel good story". This is a perfect example of how epatients can and do provide practical, solid resources for each other. It is so easy for clinicians to miss the fundamental issues that are substantial components of the experience of being a patient. It is the clinicians job to see the forest. It is the epatients job to see the trees. I almost feel like we need a specific name for interventions like this that have a positive placebo component, have a significant and measurable "experience" component and cost nearly nothing to implement, extend and make accessible.
This a story about how one patient started a movement to provide ICEE's in hospitals to cancer patients to help deal with the side effects of chemotherapy.
