Great initial article on open payments from Propublica. The TLDR: Its messy data.
The government's data on payments to doctors and hospitals by drug and device makers is incomplete and hard to penetrate – but here's a first look.

Nice hair dude.   By the way I love the book.   It I recommend to people in the industry.  They are put off by the name a little, not being geeks.   I tell them the book starts off funny, but ends a little on the serious scary side.  I also think that Medical Software companies should have employees read it.

This NPR story indicates that trolls can potentially polarize comunities. How does this impact how people view healthcare information online. Is this a bias that #epatients  should care about?

What do you wish you knew about your doctor? What three things do you wish you knew about your current doctor? If you were going to try and find a new doctor, what three things would you want to know?

This is more than just a "feel good story". This is a perfect example of how epatients can and do provide practical, solid resources for each other. It is so easy for clinicians to miss the fundamental issues that are substantial components of the experience of being a patient. It is the clinicians job to see the forest. It is the epatients job to see the trees. I almost feel like we need a specific name for interventions like this that have a positive placebo component, have a significant and measurable "experience" component and cost nearly nothing to implement, extend and make accessible.

This a story about how one patient started a movement to provide ICEE's in hospitals to cancer patients to help deal with the side effects of chemotherapy.

Dr Magid came at the recommendation of a doctor friend, and has proved himself again and again over the years. I have seen him continually reference standards, while also being open to alternative diagnosis. He actually reevaluates patients. This has been critical for my wife and I who have at times been very diagnostically complex. -FT
