UUUmmmm yeah!!!! Had heard about the ding a ling dongs…..Ding a ling alicious. Better than good. Ill be back. Why have I not been here before? Why Why Why????

I heard about this place through my cousin's wife and after she brought me here I absolutely loved it. I brought my parents, siblings, and cousins here & they all look forward to coming back when they're in town. The red velvet ding a ling has been our fav!! My husband also really liked the peanut butter ding a ling. Looking forward to try the bacon covered dessert this weekend. One star gets knocked off because they run out of stuff really early in the day so I have learned to go before noon to actually get everything you want.

This is my most missed place in LA. I tried the chocolate cookie with warm melting peanut butter inside. It's a small, underground place but I want to live on the bench located outside. These cookies are the absolute best I've ever had. I recommend this place to any of my friends visiting LA. It's a great place to grab some cookies and a cup of coffee then a nice stroll down Central Park

Croissants are very good, almost the same that I tasted in Paris. But very expensive, 2.5$. Ces prix sont outrageux! Also it would be great if they had free refills of drinks, though there is no such thing in France, so it is not required.

I had high hopes for "Semi-Sweet". They were to be my new downtown go-to, for a light and tasty breakfast matched beautifully with an espresso. A daily ritual that currently exists in my loft or in my head, depending on the previous nights end. See, I live just a couple of blocks away and it could have easily become my new morning tradition. Because frankly, I was/am tired of giving money to corporate coffee establishments, their push-button barista's and fast-food styled, single serving, vacuum sealed, arrived frozen in a box, croissant. A croissant! In general, I'm only in that part of the city for dinner or drinks or both. In which after any or all, I would always make it a point of meandering by their storefront, if only to admire their logo and to make another note-to-self, to swing by one morning and try them on for size. .. And so the story goes, eventually I did and I think given that the fantastical feat of time travel were of that at my disposal, much effort would have been put forth in dissuading myself of doing so. If only to be allowed the rose-colored lens for which I viewed them after my many nights of rich foods and a drink too many. (And the answer is yes, to those Dr. Who, now turned "experts" of fourth and fifth dimensional time-space, bla, bla, bla, bla, bla... yes I do realize the potential paradox of such a thing). bottom line, the food sucked, service sucked, and worst of all, the coffee sucked. I love to support independents. I believe in supporting independents. But what the hell? Not at the cost of my becoming a sadist. However, I'm still likely to be seen gazing through their windows at some ungodly hour of the night because, you know what, I like their logo, there, I'll give them that. Their logo is grand.

Found this adorable little bakery when visiting LA for work- what a gem! Did a little sampler box of all their breakfast pastries for a corporate meeting and was a total hit! Everything was delicious and the place is super cute:)

I made the slight mistake of coming here later on in the day on a Sunday; literally, half an hour before they closed. Meaning, they were pretty much out of all of their most popular pastries. Fortunately, they had the one I specifically went there for, which was the Red Velvet Ding A Ling. It was pretty aight. The chocolate on the outside of each Ding A Ling is hard and holds the sweet, moist, delicious cake-like filling inside wonderfully. Breaking the outer chocolate shell without having the whole thing fall apart can get a little tricky, though, so for Heaven's sake be gentle with it. If you're not a Red Velvet fan, they also have Peanut Butter Ding A Lings and for you coffee-lovers out there, there's a Caramel Macchiato version, as well. They also have something that looks like a Pop Tart knockoff, but tastes homemade, and a heck of a lot healthier. They have a multitude of other sweet treats, to satisfy any sweet tooth, from S'mores Scones, to flaky croissants, and I hear they also carry one of the most wonderful faux doughnuts, (they're baked instead of fried), you will ever taste lovingly dubbed, the 'Cronut.' They also have some of the most unique and delicious teas I've tasted in a while, and I'm not even a big tea drinker. Try the Fiji. It's bomb. Now, for the least interesting part of my review: The interior is small, but cozy. And the people are nice. Important points to remember: Come early. Come hungry. And does anybody know if there's another name for them besides 'Ding A Lings?' That sounds so awkward coming from me. One week later... I was in town for the flea market, and decided to drop by to see if they still had any cronuts left. They did, although the 'Semi Sweet' staff like to call them 'Croullants.' And let me just say, it was a beautiful experience. Light, flaky, sweet, buttery goodness, all rolled into one. It's well worth getting up early to get one of these. In fact, get 2 or 3. If you feel guilty, you can console yourself by telling yourself that they're small.
