+The Verge You forgot to post this here. Don't worry, I got you covered.
Somehow, don't ask me how, Google's zombie of a social network experiment has shambled its way to the grand age of five years old. That's right, Google+ was launched on June 28th, 2011, at a time...

But how does G+ compare to the iPhone? That's all that matters to the Verge!

I've given up on Android Pay. Tap to Pay worked with Google Wallet, but then they killed that. Then Android Pay worked when I had a virtual card for my debit card, but they killed that. Then I had the Google Wallet Card, and they killed that, too. My bank doesn't support Android Pay, and to be honest, I'm just done. I want to pay with my phone - I really do - but support thus far has been abysmal.

Amex works with Android pay, Samsung pay, etc. I just take advantage of any promotion on either one. Samsung pay works everywhere. Loving it.

Fantastic! I'll have to troll through these. Reshared as a reminder to myself

// Folklorist Alan Lomax spent his career documenting folk music traditions from around the world. Now thousands of the songs and interviews he recorded are available for free online, many for the first time. It's part of what Lomax envisioned for the collection — long before the age of the Internet.

Lomax recorded a staggering amount of folk music. He worked from the 1930s to the '90s, and traveled from the Deep South to the mountains of West Virginia, all the way to Europe, the Caribbean and Asia. When it came time to bring all of those hours of sound into the digital era, the people in charge of the Lomax archive weren't quite sure how to tackle the problem.

"We err on the side of doing the maximum amount possible," says Don Fleming, executive director of the Association for Cultural Equity, the nonprofit organization Lomax founded in New York in the '80s. Fleming and a small staff made up mostly of volunteers have digitized and posted some 17,000 sound recordings. //
More than 17,000 sound recordings made by the famed folklorist are now available, for free.

Introduction
I've been a banker, boat captain, waiter, bartender, scuba diver and world traveler. I've explored the ancient Mayan ruins of Copan, sailed the Florida Keys, had a cafe au lait in Paris, witnessed a political rally in Reykjavik, danced with the Touareg in Timbuktu, bargained with Arab traders at Djemma el Fna in Marrakech, jumped with Maasai Warriors and walked with elephants in Tsavo.

And I'm just getting started.

I only came for lunch by the creek. The restaurant area was beautiful outdoor seating right along the water and under the shady canopy of the forest that has sprouted up around the creek. Where other venues in Sedona are drowned out by music, traffic noise and the drone of air conditioners, the restaurant at L'auberge was voiced by burbling water, singing birds and the wind rustling through the trees. A retreat within a retreat. The menu is country club and high quality. Very tasty. Highly recommended.

Beautiful views, very private situation in Boynton Canyon. Amazing spa, and excellent restaurants, particularly Chi Ah Chi. Rooms are comfortable, but wish they had views of the rocks. A bit secluded from Sedona town, but easy enough to get there if you want to explore a bit. Otherwise, totally peaceful.

The Mandarin Oriental exudes class. The location and views over Central Park are exceptional. Staff are professional and courteous, anticipating needs before they are mentioned and always with understated Asian politeness. The food provided for our catered event was remarkable in presentation and quality, and our event - a farewell following a month long journey - left a lasting impression with our clients. Rooms are nicely appointed and feature stunning Park or Harbor views. We look forward to returning for similar functions, knowing our needs will be well met.

First and foremost, the service is excellent! Kevin provides friendly assistance and advice, and provides quality prints at excellent prices. I don't print much, but the various other offerings he has on display have me thinking about making some new decorations for our home. Highly recommended!

Great customer service! I asked about availability for a game console via instant message and received a fast response. The console was held for me and in great condition. The rest of the store reminds me of the best parts of a comic convention - everything pop culture! Great selection of retro video games and vinyl records, if you're into that. Friendly staff, too. Looking forward to many more visits!
