This movie had me smiling from start to finish. Beautiful. Thoughtful. Provocative. There is something for all of us in this poignant film as it  takes a closer look at the human condition channeled through babies from four diametric cultures. Bravo!

If your young child is having trouble reading a book straight through with you, try looking at the pictures together instead, follow you child's lead, keep it relaxed and fun. Ask questions here and there about the pictures, but don't overdo it.  The next time you pick up the book your child may be more apt to settle in and listen to a longer story because he or she has identified and made a connection by using the illustrations. Reading is something you want to encourage them to  enjoy, and when this happens, books become an easy and wonderful part of their lifestyle which is a huge plus when they enter school. If your child is already in school and doesn't seem interested, try reading to him or her at bedtime. And remember to read up, you can read higher level books when you are the one doing the reading. When my kids were in elementary and middle school I used to sit in the hall between their bedrooms and read at night - their favorite: The Three Musketeers!
