I've posted Kate's progress before, but she is still rocking it so I thought I'd share her latest update.

Today she shared an exciting non-scale victory with our group -- seeing abs for the first time! She's been doing the extra 10 minute core workouts that all of the Beachbody programs include as a bonus, and it is paying off.

"I see ABS for the first time in my life! I'm trying to work up the guts to share my belly-baring Transformation Tuesday publicly -- so starting with the most supportive group I know!

Lauren C. provided me with some post-baby inspiration this week! She started her program 3 months postpartum and 5 months later, she is the proud owner of a tighter tummy and looser clothes! Lauren did the 21 Day Fix, but took it slow with the workouts (only exercising a couple of times a week due to medical issues) while following the nutrition plan and portion guidelines. 5 months later she is 21 pounds lighter and a whole lot happier, just in time for warmer weather.

When you focus on healthy living and making good choices, you truly make it a lifestyle. Lauren admits she wasn't perfect:

"It's ok to slip up. I did a lot. But I got back in the saddle the next day. Feeling pretty proud looking at this side by side :)"

My new group is in the preparation stage this week and we are planning our meals around this simple nutritional system that helps you build healthy, colourful plates full of whole foods. Send me a message if you'd like to learn more!

Moment of Honesty

I was not as healthy during my recent pregnancy as I was during my first. Like last time, I was put on exercise restriction and eventually home rest, but I let my goal of eating 80/20 slip to 60/40. Knowing that this would be my last pregnancy, it was my last chance to indulge in the guilt-free "eating for two" philosophy. And since I was able to lose the baby weight last time, I was overconfident that I could do it again. I used pregnancy as my big EXCUSE to eat pretty much whatever I wanted 40% of the time. And I have let this behaviour continue now 5 weeks postpartum.

As of this morning, this behaviour has led me to being 53lbs heavier than my pre-baby weight and reality is sinking in. I know I am happier, sleep better, and am more patient when I am eating healthy foods, exercising, and taking care of myself. So the time has come to suck it up, ditch the excuses, set some goals, and work towards the body and lifestyle I want.

This spring I will:
// get out of the maternity clothes I am still wearing
// meal prep on Sundays so I have easy-to-grab lunches and snacks while I adjust to being a stay-at-home mom of two
// exercise 5x a week
// schedule at least 1 hour of kid-free "me time" every week

Starting next Monday, I will be putting my heart and soul into a new accountability group -- I need it as much as the ladies I coach. If you need accountability too, jump into this group as it will be a game changer. I'm not looking for people who sorta, kinda wanting to change. I want people who are sick and tired of being sick and tired and will drop their excuses with me. Message me ASAP if you are ready to get to work on the life you want.

One more look at results from the 22 Minute Hard Corps test group! I'm excited to dig into this new program on March 28th.

The following testimonial comes from Becka R. who is in the bottom right hand corner. A fellow coach who needed to get back to basics in January, she was ecstatic to be given a sneak peak of this program to motivate her to get back on track. Her photos and results show that progress is not always reflected in the scale...you can tell she is much leaner but an 8 lb loss may not sound like much to some people. Ditch the scale and feel the difference!

"AHHHH! My results from 22 Minute Hard Corps are officially in!!! I am freaking out! I lost 8 pounds and TWENTY INCHES in the last 8 weeks from committing to the program + clean eating and portion control. I am blown away! Never have I gotten results like these from a workout this short! And can you even believe how much my legs shaped up? They are my "problem area" so I'm sooooooo excited to see progress there!!! I also can do THREE pull ups now! Which is amazing because I couldn't even do 1 when I started! I have never enjoyed a workout as much as I did these ones!!!

I feel stronger, leaner, more confident, more excited about my fitness, more badass, and more on track."

I'll be leading an accountability group starting March 28th and there is still time to snag a spot. I personally will be doing this program to lose the baby weight and get back into shape. Join me in doing this program or choose-your-own-fitness, but we'll work together to stay on track and reach our health and fitness goals in time for summer. Message me for more details.

More results from the 22 Minute Hard Corps test group. The top right is Paula, a coach on my team and a mom of three. She started the test group on January 4th and is amazed at how great she feels inside and out in only 8 weeks.

"Is it easy? NO.
Is it awesome? YES.
Will you be able to do it? Heck yes!!! There's modifications so don't panic.
The workouts REALLY are 22 minutes and they will make you feel pretty badass let me tell ya! And the meal plan is VERY simple to follow!"

There are no more excuses left in the book. You CAN find 22 minutes a day to workout and get in the best shape of your life.

I've got four people committed to doing this with me and I'm looking for a few more - who's coming?

#TransformationTuesday!

Beachbody's newest program released today and I'm kinda excited -- 22 Minute Hard Corps featuring Tony Horton (the P90x guru). It is a military, bootcamp style workout with simple yet effective moves. The program features real vets and it is guaranteed to whip you into top shape in 8 weeks. In 22 minutes a day. Who doesn't have 22 minutes they could dedicate to their fitness?

Below is Elizabeth H. who just had a baby 8 months ago. Even though she is a coach, her own fitness had fallen by the way-side in the early months of motherhood:

"Having a baby was the most rewarding, fulfilling and beautiful blessing that God could have ever graced us with. There's no questioning that for a second.

But that doesn't mean that there aren't struggles. And I STRUGGLED - with my weight, with my energy levels, with my confidence, and with my level of BELIEF in me. I started to believe it when people told me that after having a baby you just can't have your energy or confidence back. And just like that, I was back to a time in my life five plus years ago where my circumstances dictated the outcome of my life.

So when I was given a workout that was 22 minutes a day, I didn't expect much. And then, two months later, everything changed, and I feel like ME again. Confident in my own skin, and ready to lead an army of women who can FEEL what I'm talking about.

This is for the woman who gets what I'm saying because they've lived it. I'm in my final week of this new program, and it's been the first thing in a long time to help me to BELIEVE in me again!"

I'm thinking this may need to be my post-baby program to get me back into shape. Even with a little guy in tow, I should have 22 minutes to workout in my basement. I'm organizing my spring accountability group to start up on March 28th -- whether you want to try this program or something different, reach out if you need to get your butt back on track.

Where could you be one year from now? Check out Laurie C's transformation -- the first photo is from January 2015, second from September, and the last is January 2016. I'll let her do the talking for this one as she summed it up perfectly:

"I'm sharing in hopes to reach and inspire someone! One year of hard work and dedication, but I'm not perfect. I've made many changes and eat healthy 90% of the time -- I'm still human and like my occasional treat. It's a lifestyle change, not boot camp! Many thanks to the people who have helped me get to where I am today, which is a better place both physically and mentally <3 <3 <3" -- :) feeling proud.

I love that she has adopted the philosophy that this is a new lifestyle, not a short-term fix.

Congrats Laurie on making the changes that make you happy!

I'm excited to shout-out Samantha G -- she's another post-baby inspiration for me :).

A full-time working mom of two little girls aged 3 and 11 months, Samantha began her journey in April 2015. She was skeptical that she would have the time to focus on making a lifestyle change with her full-time work hours and young family and was hesitant to commit to a program. But the fact that the workouts in the 21 Day Fix are only 30 minutes, she thought it was worth a try. Not one to focus on the scale, Samantha is proud of the physical differences she sees in the photographs from April to December (no stats are included in the post -- just the visuals!). She feels the group support is what helped her stay on track and be successful:

"You are all so amazing and working so hard! Pure motivation for me! I love the community and the support!"

Never give up on yourself -- if there is a will there is a way!
