I used to dine here at least once a week. Sushi used to be wonderful. The last few months it's gone totally down hill. My last visit a few days ago, I received a groupon as a gift and used it. Mind you, I'm a regular customer who has spent thousands there in the last couple years. The service i received after mentioning I had a groupon was COMPLETELY unacceptable. The sushi kept falling apart and each roll only had 5 pieces instead of the usual 6+. TINY portions of fish. Then at the end, I was charged "gratuity" for a party of TWO because of the groupon which made our bill the same as it would've been without it. As much as I used to love this place, my time dining at Tokyo is beyond over.

Do NOT buy groupon for this place! They charge you a ridiculous gratuity and nowhere on the groupon does it say this nor do they tell you. I had a party of 3 and my service was terrible. Sushi made us ALL nauseous! They take off groupon at the end of the bill instead of before so you pay a lot for gratuity on crappy service and food!!!! WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN!!!!!

I'm not sure why this place has such a high rating. Stopped by tonight while on business. I ordered the teriyaki chicken and California roll. It was terrible, something was off with the sushi. I don't know if it was bad or old, but only ate 1 piece out of 6. The chicken was a little dry, and the rice was bland. Ended up throwing it out and getting a burger from Wendy's. It did get a 100 rating from the health department though.

Very good. I didn't know they had a $5.99 lunch buffet. Service was fast and friendly. The lady there is very sweet. Add a sushi dish to your buffet for only $2. The California Rolls were excellent. Next time I'll go there just for the sushi.

The food was okay. Place more of a take out place than sit down. Used a Groupon to try it out. Disappointed they added $5 tip on a $24 bill. That's over 20%. We would have tipped $5 plus anyway, but I really do not like when place adds a 'gratuity. That should always be left to the customer. Groupon deal did not specify 20% tip was mandatory. Place lost our future business due to this.

We are all SICK after eating there. The rest of my family that did NOT eat there are not sick so I know our rotten stomachs were due to dining@Tokyo Japanese. Also, I Purchased a Groupon to use there. The waitress/management staff were not happy to honor it and directly told me, "Ma'am, we make NO MONEY off you with this Groupon." They ended up putting the Groupon 'savings' right back on the bill under gratuity-even though we were a small party of 4 which DID not warrant a 30PERCENT gratuity charge that was never disclosed to me in writing or verbal. They went on to say,"the Groupon advertised was not for you (assuming we were local I guess??)- its for people that are not from around here." Anyway -I WONT go back where I was OVERCHARGED, the food was not fresh nor satisfying PLUS we A-L-L got SICK. The left-over food ended up in the TRASH!
