“Excelling at any job is about doing the things you weren’t asked to do,” said Mary Egan, founder of Gathered Table, a Seattle-based start-up and former senior vice president for strategy and corporate development at Starbucks. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/wanted-college-graduates-tolerance-ambiguity-jeff-selingo

For science, the lab is both an instrument and an impediment.  99.9% of the real world simply can’t be replicated in the lab.  So some researchers rule that 99.9% out as non-science.  But science aspires to know everything.  So it’s not reality that’s unscientific. It’s the lab.

It would be nice if more people kept this in mind when arguing social issues.

Every page, every paragraph, every sentence sparkles with captivating metaphors, delightful verbal concoctions, alchemical insights, philosophic whimsy, absurd illogicals, scientific comedy routines, relentless, non-stop waves of hilarity.
