Was in town when Chef Ramsey was correcting the restaurant... food was spectacular! Came back a year later for vacation and almost vomited on the table. Biggest embarrassment ever... =[

As always, Chappy's cuisine was superb. His wait staff, excellent, wife list is sufficient and not overly priced. The ambiance was exceptional. He has brought old New Orleans charm to Nashville. My wife and I go there on special occasions, and the enjoy everything about the experience. Chappy's should be noted as one of Nashville’s finest.

There were three in our party. We were seated very quickly. The table that we were taken to did not have a clear view of the band, so I asked for a table with a better view and the hostess, graciously got us a better table. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was willing to take care of anything we asked. Having been raised in southern Mississippi and having access to the original Chappy's. The food was everything I expected it to be. Fresh and well prepared. I had the seafood platter and everything was excellent. The other two had the special, which was grouper topped with crab meat and shrimp. I saw many reviews that gave the food poor review, all I can figure is those people had never had real fresh prepared seafood. If you go, you must try the Crab bisque. That's the best thing you will ever put in your mouth. If you order dessert, prepare to share. The portions were huge. They will put it in a to go box when you can't eat it all. If you have never try Chappy's, You owe it to yourself to try it. Real seafood lover, Cajun food lover, for that matter people who know real good food, will love Chappy's. Those people that wrote the bad reviews probably think McDonald's is a seafood restaurant and the Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich is cajun food.

Took my wife to Chappy's Thursday February 14th for a late Valentines lunch and we were the only customers there. They do close at 2:00 and it was close to that time, so I didn’t think anything about that. We were seated right away by a friendly lady, and our waiter was quick to respond. Made small talk and was very friendly. He asked us what we wanted, and recommended the specials. I had one of the special, Crawfish/Shrimp Etouffee, with a salad with the house Creole Vinaigrette dressing. My wife asked about the shrimp Po Boy having the mud veins removed, and the waiter said, NO, so she ordered the Chicken Po Boy and a salad with the house Creole Vinaigrette dressing too. Our waiter seemed very distracted, because he asked me what I wanted, after I had already told him what I wanted. We go our salads pretty quickly and all they were was a chunk of iceberg lettuce with a carrot garnish and on small cherry tomato. The dressing was good, but for $6.00 extra for my wife, it could have had better lettuce and some vegetables. Our meals came after what seemed a very long time. Thirty five minutes for some soup and a sandwich when you are the only people there seemed a bit much to me. My wife looked at her sandwich and it was a shrimp Po Boy, not the Chicken she ordered. My Etouffee was good and I my wife said her sandwich was pretty good, but she asked the waiter for some of the salad dressing, which she added to the sandwich. After I finished, my wife gave me the last bite of her sandwich, because she was full. I thought it was pretty good too. After we paid and left it took us about 35 minutes to get home, and once there, we both had Diarrhea. I went two more times in the next two hours and the next morning. I know TMI, but what else could it have been. We had eaten breakfast at McDonalds at 9:30 and nothing else until Chappy’s. Food gets a Poor-Fair: Flavor was good, but we both got sick. Service get a Poor-Fair: Given wrong item and it took quite a while to get the food. The waiter was Nice and attentive, but was distracted seeming. Décor was Very Good: Apparently it had just been painted and redecorated for a TV show. The bill was $36 and some change, which was higher than average for a soup salads and a sandwich. Not that I'm an Expert on Creole cooking, but I have had it in New Orleans and Hilton Head Island and Augusta GA, and they all were much better than this one. Cheaper too. Will NOT be going back EVER.

Awesome menu especially if your into fish. I think they had 7 different fish on the menu the night we went. Waiter rattled of about 10 specials, I had the grouper, may have been one of the best dishes I have ever eaten. The blackening spice is the best I have ever tasted. My date had the duck which was also amazing. If your in Nashville check this place out!

I can't say we were impressed with Chappy's. My wife and I had a midweek dinner there recently, and we were greatly disappointed. On the whole, the experience was inconsistent and the details and lack of value killed it for us. The music being played over the speakers at the same time as live music resulted in an overly loud distracting atmosphere. The decor felt dark and stuffy even with sunlight streaming in. Every dish came coated in an overly generous garnish of green onions, fistfuls of it, from appetizers to mains, which were incongruous and cheapened the dish. Details such as plastic disposable bowls for condiments on a $40 plate make me think of a cheap bar not a good restaurant. To go desert bread pudding was ice cold, but with toppings already added. So we could neither have a bite before leaving, nor warm it up at home without melting the toppings into it. Parking by the dumpsters is not a great first or last impression. Overall I would say the food was decent, but forgettable and way overpriced for the quality and overall experience. Sadly, we will not return. Many other places in Nashville to have a nice dinner.

If you want a special night out this is great place, food was outstanding for the price. There history with stories and pictures were nice touch and to my surprise they knew relatives of mine from Mississippi location!! We had very large group and several elderly celebrating birthdays and they made them feel so good. The owner came out and was so nice and comical, we loved his place and his wife.

We went to Chappy's Saturday 2/2/2013 at 7pm. We have been there several times in the past and thought what a great place to take our friends since they have never been there. Well that is not how it turned out at all! We didnt have a reservation but the place wasnt at all overly run with customers, the hostess walked up front 3 times before she even spoke to the 4 of us, and when she did she said if you dont have a reservation it will be 1 hour and 30 to 1 hour 45 minutes wait. Well they others that were standing there to have there names taken were shocked at her rudeness as she never even asked our names. Chappy's disappointed me to the point I just turned and walked out. This woman has been there every time Ive ever been there and I have never been treated so rudely and will not be again. I just wanted to let you know that we took our business elsewhere and for the four of us we had a wait time of 55 minutes (and we were glad to wait) and they were glad to have us and the bill was just under $300.00. Chappy, that is what your hostess cost you in revenue in these slow times, I cant imagine that would make any business owner happy. Sad times :(
