What a nightmare! We checked in and checked out in less than 10 minutes. It should have been a red flag when we walked up and had to talk to the gruff man behind a glass instead of a welcoming counter. When we checked in and got to our room, I was overwhelmed by the stench of smoke in the room and the lock was falling off the hinges. Another red flag. Then, I looked at the beds and saw the 2 bedbugs that were crawling on the pillow. I quickly told my family not to take another step. "We are not staying here!". I trapped a bug In a cup and took it to the man to let him know and demanded a refund. He was unapologetic and let us know that we couldn't get a refund because we booked through Expedia. I then told him he needed to go check the room further and he said "I'm not going in that room". I left the bug in the cup in front of the glass that the man was behind. We left, found another hotel and I immediately called Expedia who said they would need to follow Up the next morning and get back to me. Expedia did everything they should have done. They were excellent in handling my concern. The management at Days Inn, however, refused to allow Expedia to refund us for the initial night (we had booked for 2) because we had"checked in". Had we known that the rooms would be in such bad condition, we never would have checked in. I have taken this to the corporate office.

Worst customer service experience ever. Clearly growing membership is not their priority.
