I live in an old brick farmhouse with my wonderful husband, daughter and our cats! I am a semi-retired small animal veterinarian, now spending my time homemaking. Love thrifting, antiquing, shopping the curb.

Sunday God-glory
Sun breaking through a morning fog is always breathtaking. Fog caught in perfect spiderwebs is miraculous. Sunshine-y Black-eyed Susans are glorious. Storing up all these graces and blessings is transformative. Be blessed today. ♥️♥️♥️ Carol

How We Got Here
For years, I blogged happily from Our Sears Kit Home.  It was my dream home, the history of it, the age of it, the beauty.  Mister and I (over)improved to our hearts' content, because we had no plan of ever leaving. Since we were never leaving, we decided t...

We got about 20 inches of snow overnight and into today.  The birds are still singing, and I still sense the onward march of spring.   To leave the house this morning, I had to shovel a path down the steps and to the barn, where Finley and Jimmy eagerly…

So I saw these blooming today…….squeal I started the morning early……hanging out laundry, which, quite frankly, makes me giddy.  It wasn’t until my mother commented several times how she liked seeing my laundry hanging outside, and I shared that I loved…

Watching the seasons transition is always a joy.  Looking to see every nuance that I can catch.  Right now I’m feeling the transition……spring is quietly, invincibly advancing in a waning winter. That doesn’t mean that there won’t be more wintry…

We had some lovely sunshine one day this week.  It was such a joy.  See the sunshine and sky above the sign that John made?   It was a beautiful day to walk with these two.  Finley on the left, Jimmy on the right.  They are our barn cats, and I do keep…
