Delicious food but can only have it so often. The lovely brisket and pulled pork are great, and you just have to accept that it's your fatty night of the week, as there's nothing lean or skinny about it. The mashed potatoes are great too. I would skip on the cornbread and maybe even coleslaw (it's a bit strange) but everything else is delicious. The restaurant is comfortable to sit around and easy to get to, as it's right off of Park ave.

The food and service at Blue Smoke rank it amongst the top in the NYC bbq game. Standout dishes include the wings, fry bread, mac & cheese, salt & pepper beef ribs & crisps. As a Danny Meyer restaurant, you are assured of friendly servers who anticipate your needs without being stuffy. At the same time, the large space and relaxed atmosphere make it a comfortable place to visit time after time, as I've done. It usually fills up most nights, and they don't take open table rez's on the same day, so be sure to plan ahead.

This restaurant made me a huge Danny Meyer fan. The restaurant is very big by NYC standards but you still need to make a rez because it is a popular place (luckily they are on opentable). We always get the mac and cheese (very creamy and heavy), the Beef ribs (ginormous), and the chicken wings saucy and spicy). I highly recommend you try this place the next time you are in the mood for some delicious BBQ.

This is based on my Sunday Lunch here for Restaurant week. The menu sounded great on paper, but was lacking in execution. For the appetizers, I ordered the Pepper Sausage, while my boyfriend order the Spicy Wings. The sausage was underwhelming and only had Four slices of sausage on the plate. The wings were delicious & a perfect portion size. For the main dish, I ordered the Smoked Trout & my boyfriend ordered the Braised Short Ribs. When I ordered Smoked Trout I expected a dish similar to a Blackened Catfish, but no it was a limp piece of fish, with no flavor. The salad that accompanied it was nice. The Braised Short Ribs were much better than my dish, but was still lacking in flavor. The desserts (Key Lime Pie and the Banana Bread Pudding) were the best part of the meal, but couldn't take away the bad taste in my mouth. I've visited many restaurants during Restaurant Week and this was the worst dining experience, I've ever had!

I came here with my friend during restaurant week and this had been one of the spots bookmarked for a while so I was happy I was trying it. When we first arrived around 5:45pm the place was empty and I was shocked because I know its very popular restaurant. Towards the middle of our dining the place was packed. I was shocked how many children were dining as well. I wasnt pleased with the restaurant week pre-fix menu but I made it work. For an appetizer I had the smoked sausage appetizer which was sooo good. I was annoyed that it was small and my friend who ordered the chipotle wings had a large portion of wings that looked like it could've been an entree. I tried her wings which were just okay and was happy I ordered the sausage. For my entree, I had the Apple Wood Chicken with mash potatoes which was very tasty. I tried my friends smoked ribs and was happy I didnt order the ribs. For dessert, I had the chocolate cake with the cute small glass of milk that hit the spot. We were given a little pastry from their bakery after dinner which I ate the next day and it was sooo good. I would return to this spot and check out their bakery.

I am a native New Yorker and will keep to the directness of how we are known to be :) Food: Excellent! Famed Danny Meyer's BBQ joint that delivers serious eats! Try the Rib Sample & the NC Pulled Pork. For sides, I recommend: the mac & cheese and cornbread. Drinks: Great. Tons of specialty drinks, classics, and beers (tap & bottle). Space: This is a large restaurant/ bar and jazz performance venue. It's very casual, no frills, southern style dining setting. It is the perfect layout for mixing and mingling, date nights, and get-togethers. Scene: Romantic. Date night. Get-togethers. Jazz. Service: Excellent! Very courteous & professional.
