Living as close as I do now to a large Asian market presents some unique temptations.  I love tobiko in/on sushi, and didn't discover until last week that it could be had by the jar-full. This jar is my reward for surviving this week, which was rather trying on a number of different levels/issues.

The thing I'm looking forward to most about this is seeing my people. Barbecue,  Tex-Mex, and a decent margarita are tied for a distant second place.

So, I did an awesome this week. After quite a lot of R&D, I finally figured out how to do Tortoiseshell patterns in glass enamel!  The current plan to sell these cabochons to other jewelers to set as stones, but maybe, just maybe, somewhere amidst the unmanageable pile of stuff I have to do, I might be able to find time to make a finished piece to feature one (or a few) of these.

Never mind "mo-vember." The main message about what makes you creepy is relevant at all times, and is not restricted to men's health messages.

Well, now that that's over, have a tray of celebratory enamel buttons.

This is an atheist talk, but I am really not posting it in that capacity at all. Please don't discuss the religious angle here, I'm not trying to have that discussion.

Instead....

This is a really good talk about the assumptions we make when we talk to other people, about our presumed correctness of our own views, the flaws in our reasoning abilities, etc. And our willingness to disengage and dismiss people who disagree with our positions, even when they are making reasonable arguments.

I think if you get into a lot of intense discussions on G+, this should be required viewing. No matter what your religious, political, or philosophical beliefs are.
