I just finished writing a short post-con wrap up on Gary Con 2016! I have to say this DCC community is quite awesome, and it's great to know that sitting down and rolling dice with anyone here results in such an memorable, hilarious time!

Finished running +Trevor Hartman's Tabletop group through +Order of the Quill's Theater of the Hammed last night! For most, it was their first venture into the world of DCC. After some talented play acting, a few erotic pig-nipple dreams, and Trevor's warrior purposely replacing his feet with hooves, the group made it out of the Theater alive - and with a lot of laughs and a couple great magic items to boot!

THE CURTAIN HAS RISEN, AND A BARBAROUS AUDIENCE CRIES YOUR NAME IN A SPATTERING OF SPIT AND PHLEGM!  Theater of the Hammed, a 3PP DCC RPG Adventure for 3rd and 4th-level characters, is now available on RPGNow, Lulu, and the Game Crafter!  Visit for awesome pictures and more details (including the info posted below)!

Hi G+ gonzo-craving dungeon crawlers!
Lots of exciting news in this post.  First, I am pleased to announce the release of Theater of the Hammed - my second full 3PP DCC RPG adventure! TOTH is written to be played by five to seven 3rd-level characters, or four to six 4th-level characters, in approximately six hours of playtime.

Second, I just want to thank everyone who helped me make this module happen.  Thank you +Julian Bernick  for extensive editing.  Thank you +Jen Brinkman  , +Jon Carnes  , Meg Dolan, and Justin Melde for careful proofreading.  Thanks you again Jen, Jon, and +Michael Bolam  for running your players through a playtest.  Thank you Jack Kotz for your awesome cover and handout art.  And finally - Thank you everyone who has picked up a copy of my first adventure or  patron Myassari!  Doing all this work on the side of my real job can be tiring, but this great community keeps me motivated!

Now for the details...

"The people of Minstrel need your help!  A divine ritual meant to heal our sleepless king has gone abominably, giving birth to blood-thirsty creatures from the pages of fable!  Now we are trapped between both the Western raiders which rule our port, and the nightmarish demons which hold our once great amphitheater.  Scattered within the theater are the cursed fable’s pages, which we need to complete the ritual!  Where could such a group of adventurers be found, who would dare face creatures and beasts so vile as to even hurl the imaginative minds of a theater audience into abject terror!"

Bound within this module is an eight-page set of illustrated player handouts that combine into The Boy in the Golden Pantaloons – A dungeon crawler’s fairy tale written exclusively for this adventure!  Each print version also includes a create-your-own Melodalia's Medallion of Misbelief - a functional dial used by players throughout the adventure to track their descent into madness!

Like I mentioned above, it’s available on RPGNow, Lulu, and the Game Crafter.  There are details about all three at, but in this post I only want to mention the special printing of Melodalia’s Medallion of Misbelief!  Seen in the pictures above, four, full color, professionally made medallions are included with the Game Crafter edition of the module.  Game Crafter's special-edition medallion set will also available on its own!  You can soon purchase them from Game Crafter in a set of four, or for a limited time, I'll be offering single medallions via Gumroad.  Basically, I ordered a few batches at once so I could offer those who only want to purchase a single medallion to go along with their RPGNow or LuLu copies!  There are only twenty available to start, so act fast if you know you want to have one!

Which brings us to the winner of a free Lulu print copy of Theater of the Hammed!  On a d100, I rolled a 17... which would normally result in something bad happening, unless you're... +Dan Chiavaroli  !!!

Also, for the first time, and for a limited time, my first adventure Cast Tower of the Blood Moon Rises! is on sale to celebrate the release of TOTH!

Now it's time to get packed for Gamehole Con 2015!!!!!

Judges have your scissors ready!

A quick (and exciting) update on Theater of the Hammed... my soon-to-release 3PP DCC RPG adventure for 3rd and 4th-level characters:

After some very helpful feedback from the module's awesome GM playtesters, +Michael Bolam  +Jen Brinkman  and +Jon Carnes  the adventure has been revised, finalized, and print proofs have been ordered!  Theater of the Hammed will be available online in Print and PDF on RPGNow, LULU, and The Game Crafter in the first week of November!

In this adventure, I introduce a new gameplay mechanic titled "The Misbelif Rating" (MR) which is used to track PCs as they fall into the depths of illusion.  There's much more about MR in the module, but for now I wanted to give you a peek at the fully-functional medallion which will be used to track it... Introducing Melodalia's Medallion of Misbelief!

That's right!  It's a create-your-own misbelief tracker for your Theater of the Hammed (and beyond) adventure!  As I mentioned in an earlier post, the adventure was originally written for Gamehole Con 2015's adventure writing contest through The Game Crafter.  The medallion, a 2.5" dial, was intended to be a Game Crafter exclusive... but last weekend I was struck by a brilliant idea: What if GMs had the option to make their own!  That way, no matter which site you order from, you can experience the ideal session.

Print and PDF copies of the adventure will have the GM handout packaged into them so you can cut out and create your own medallion.  If you grab the PDF version of the adventure, you can make as many as you'd like!  In the images above, I made a medallion out of regular printer paper and color cardstock.

The Game Crafter version of the module will include a set of four full-color, professionally printed medallions.  I'll be sure to show them off once I receive my printer proofs.  They will also be available for individual order in case you decide you want one later on.

And as I've done in the past, one lucky +Order of the Quill  follower will win a FREE print copy of Theater of the Hammed!

Hi Crawlers!
I'm thrilled to reveal the cover of my second Order of the Quill 3PP DCC RPG module titled Theater of the Hammed - An adventure for 4th-level characters that will be premiering at Gamehole Con this November!  That's right!  My Gamehole Con event titled "Cast Tower of the Blood Moon Rises! [DCC RPG]" is actually a deceptive curtain concealing Theater of the Hammed!  There are only two seats remaining - so grab them while you can!

This module was exclusively written for Gamehole Con's first annual Rodney adventure writing competition!  Keep your fingers crossed that I roll under my Luck and bring home the Rodney trophy in the name of gong farmers everywhere!

To keep this post from getting too long, I'm just going to link to my blog post, where you can find more info about Theater of the Hammed:

I'm looking for a couple GMs who are interested in playtesting the game with their DCC groups.  All playtesters will of course be credited in the final print of the module, and both GMs will receive free print copies of the adventure.  Just PM me on G+ for more info!

Finally, a couple quick shout-outs/credits:
