March for Science yielded some fantastic signs. I'm especially tickled by some of these.

I was reading this and thinking it all makes reasonable sense and fits my own experience pretty well, but what's a standard, general GM advice column doing on Cracked?

Halfway through, he starts talking about HarmonTown and HarmonQuest, and I realise it's written by Spencer Crittenden. I like his GMing, his style is close to what I aim for, except maybe for the scripted monologues. (That's what handouts are for.) But still, what's a standard, general GM advice column doing on Cracked?

Promotional outreach for season 2 of HarmonQuest? Hopefully followed up with something more casual and amusing?

Memories of an old thing I wrote came back to me, about how we allow dodgy definitions to shape our perceptions.

I had some time to kill, for once, and a question about Wil Wheaton's TableTop series.

The crew of the Reddy Mix, celebrating my first ever Duna landing. Made my first Mun landing back in January 2012 (and Minmus in 2014), so it's been quite a while since my Kerbals got to feel new soil/pudding underfoot. The further away things are, the further off they are.

And in typical Kerbal fashion, they made this landing with zero fuel left, so they just live on Duna now.

Not exactly news, we knew this was coming, except now NASA has the details of exactly what all they're having to cancel due to the Earth science cuts.

I was not aware of this. The numbers game they play is kind of secondary to the main point, I think, which is that a fuckload of people are being forced to flee their homes, and we hardly hear about them.

I keep having to repeat this, over and over, in a few different places, so now I'm just going to refer people to watch the Reverend Watson explain it for me instead.

My only small point of disagreement is on the robots vs. humans issue. I think robots are great, we should definitely launch lots of them, AND we should also be learning as much as we can about how to keep people in space safely.

But I do stop short of insisting that we must send people to Mars in a big rush. Patient, incremental development is far saner. I like the current international plan to do a Moon orbital station, as a next logical step after the ISS retires.

Also, this video doesn't cover all the reasons why Trump's push to launch humans on the still very incomplete Orion-SLS in 2018/19 is a stupid idea.
