"How often should you change your oil"? This is a very good question. Another good question is how often should you check your oil?
The automotive industry is looking at this question because they are realizing that because engines are running cleaner and the oils are continuing to improve, that it may not be necessary to do 3000 mile oil changes. Oil changes may be able to be extended to 4000 miles, 5000 miles or even longer.
However there is another reason they are looking at this. Manufacturers are now required to include on the window sticker what your cost per mile is going to be. So they are trying to lower this number by extending the time between oil changes.
Because of the complexity of today's engines, with variable valve timing, direct injection of the fuel, and variable displacement engines, it is more important than ever to have clean oil in the engine. Because of this some cars are having problems caused by dirty oil. Also, most engines will not run for 5000, 7000, or 10,000 miles without checking or adding oil. So it is becoming more important to have your oil change done by someone who knows you, your car so they can recommend the correct type of oil and how often you should change it.
So if you are looking for an "oil change near me", come see our professional to get it done correctly.
And check out the attached photos to see the difference between a clean engine and a dirty one.

Are you wondering "why is my battery light on in my car"? The strange thing about this light is that even though it is call a battery light and it looks like a battery, this light is telling you that the alternator or some other charging system part is not working. So if you see this light, you may wonder "is my car battery dead"?
Well if you ignore this light it will cause your battery to need recharged, and in some cases may permanently damage your battery, causing you to need to replace your battery. This will cause you to ask why "my car wont start".
So don't ignore this light or assume that your battery needs replaced. Get your car to a mechanic and get it properly checked as soon as possible. #autorepairnearme   #battery

Have you ever replaced your "cabin air filter"? This filter is designed to catch dirt such as pollen, dust, bugs, and leaves before it enters and collects on your evaporator or heater core. It is amazing how dirty these filters can be. They actually need to be replaced more often than the "air filter" does.

How often should a "timing belt" be replaced? How will I know when my timing belt should be replaced?
Most timing belts need to be replaced in the 90,000 to 120,000 mile range. But a few are to be replaced as low as 60,000 miles.
Most times there is no warning that a timing belt is going to fail and usually you can not look at it and see that it is about to fail. So a timing belt needs to be replaced based on mileage or time.
So how much will replacing my timing belt cost? Sometimes there are additional parts that need to be replaced besides the timing belt. There is nothing more expensive than having to do the job a second time because of not doing the job completely the first time.
Just give us a call and we will be glad to discuss the details that apply to your vehicle.
