Performance calendar day #25: #MerryChristmas with +Tony Gentilcore's Engineer's guide to optimization
A solid engineering mindset is key to successful performance optimization. This has been driven into me by the wisdom of engineers such as Bharat Mediratta, Darin Fisher, James Simonsen, Nat Duca, Pat Meenan, Simon Hatch and Steve Souders (to name a few), as well as by trial-and-error during ...

Despite the opportunity to snap a few interesting shots and "check Africa off my continents list," I definitely wouldn't return to Tangier. It's a stressful city where westerners are hassled constantly. The wonders of Spain taunt from across the strait.

I highly recommend everyone to visit Prague. Beauty, beef and beer: what more could you ask?

Gibraltar is a magical British Overseas Territory carved out from the southern tip of Spain. Europe's only colony of monkeys clown around the cliffs. Little do they know of the miles of caves and tunnels within the rock.

Might have just been the day, but somehow this wasn't as good as the location on 18th.

Brunch was good here. On the plus, the smoothie was as great as they come. On the negative, the hash browns are little McDonald's style bricks.

Wow! What a fabulous new addition to the area. Dishes are creative and well thought out. I'm drooling just thinking about the burrata and asparagus. We sat at the bar and the service there was better than table service at most places. Alex, the bartender, really made the meal memorable with his careful recommendations and descriptions. He even let us sample all the wines we were deciding among. We'll be back!

Not a place to bring your foodie friends, but some good, guilty comfort foods like the Texas Burger (american cheese and a fried egg).

A typical taqueria but with nice outdoor tables. The burrito isn't too special, but did have one of the most elastic tortillas I've ever had.
