This is a cutaway view of a 54H60-77 propeller. Notice the gearing. The blades change angles while in flight which controls the aircraft's speed. The engines are controlled along with the prop. As you increase speed, the higher the blade angle & the need for more fuel. Not an expert on the 54H60 Propeller system? C&S Propeller is the expert. C-130 performing a low-level parachute drop. A great way to get cargo into a base under siege without having to land, taxi and take off again! This maneuver, of course, means you have to have your prop functioning with precision. Make sure your 54H60 Props are taken care of by C&S Propeller, the category leaders in the industry.

The 54H60 propeller assembly is a constant speed, fully feathering, hydro-mechanical propeller. During aircraft operation, the 54H60 prop system has two distinct ranges, beta (ground) and alpha (flight) ranges. These ranges are differentiated by what component is controlling blade angle.
