Sweet espresso roasted in house. Personal, friendly, and efficient service. Attentive creation of classic coffee drinks. I've never experienced a lapse in excellence here.

I have been here a couple of times and is a comfty place, they do good coffee but Im not completely sure that they are baristas. Good luck with the parking on the street or pay $5 in the near parking spot.

Tried each coffee shop between our hotel and the convention and this place was our favorite. Best mocha I've ever had, service was fine. Quiet atmosphere in the room was nice, and the place was furnished tastefully. The names for the teas were cool, too.

If I spend 4 dollars for a tiny little small cup of coffee, i would expect it to be better than starbucks coffee. However, they suck. Seriously, the latte i order is like someone just soak the beans in the hot water over night. It doesnt taste anything like a nice cup of latte. And when I ask for some syrup, just plain syrup, they said I need to pay them another 60 cents. Anyway, save your money for a starbucks, at least you call that latte

Stopped by because reviews hinted that this was a good place for tea as well as coffee. They didn't have the tea I wanted when I first ordered. (Right after they opened, so it's not like I showed up late in the day.) I got the chai instead, and it was the most disappointing chai latte I've ever had. It tasted like someone had soaked anise pods in milk. The baked goods didn't fare too much better--The scone I got was partially unbaked. They seemed to have a hardcore group of regulars when I stopped by, so I'm guessing at least *something* must be good on the menu. The clerks were very friendly, but that didn't make the food/drink any better to me. Better off going to starbucks, or the sunberry across the street.

There aren't many great coffee shops in Hartford / West Hartford as the business is dominated by big chains around here. If you like good espresso from the likes of Ninth Street Espresso or Cafe Grumpy in New York, this is the place for you. The baristas are well trained and truly know what they are doing. Since they roast their own beans in house, and in small batches, you can expect the freshest coffee you can get in town. If you are more of a tea person, you must not miss the honey ginger tea. This drink is a true word-of-mouth generator. Real ginger is used to brew the tea. One thing to watch out is that the quality of the espresso is not very consistent, especially when your cup is brewed by a trainee. Even so, a trainee here is way better than any so-called barista in Starbucks.
