Introduction

I am Alastair Pidgen, my background is as an operational researcher – the science of solving problems with data. I have practiced business and statistical analysis across a number of organisations, and enjoy simplifying complexity through the visualisation of concepts and data.

Professional interests include data insight, new media and technology, and financial services.

Current personal interests include the proliferation of new web and cloud based analysis platforms, enhancing the toolkit now available to the data minded, alongside the availability and democratisation of information of public interest.

A keen photographer, I enjoy the mixture of digital formats and processing alongside the look and feel given by old cameras. I scuba dive and snorkel, and enjoy the company of colourful fish as well as people.

I support Norwich City, through bad times and worse.
