If you're in the Washington, DC area next week, don't forget to sign up for #TerpCon (http://www.warhorn.net/terpcon-xvii/). Among other games, there'll be a seriously old-school #FASA #StarTrek #RPG game. It's an original episode, "Intruders," continuing the story from one written for the last TerpCon. Of course, there are other games on the schedule, and the schedule will grow. You can also play whatever pick-up #games you want.

Learn about TerpCon and register here: http://www.warhorn.net/terpcon-xvii/.

The Gamers' Syndicate is happy to announce our next special event. We'll be holding a Brief Tour of the History of Dungeons and Dragons at Dream Wizards in Rockville, MD on May 12, 2012. Springing from the twisted mind of Brett Abbott, this is a four-part adventure, with each two-hour part run using a different edition of D&D. For more information, please visit http://gamerssyndicate.net/main/DDTour.aspx.

We're still looking for 2e and 3.5e encounter writers for our Brief Tour of the History of D&D. Send us a message if you're interested.

Hear ye! Hear ye! Are thou sick of adventurers ruining thy nefarious plans? Do thou wish to eat their hearts for elevensies? The join our band of rabble-rousers, and revenge will be obtained!

As you may already know, the Gamers’ Syndicate (http://www.gamerssyndicate.net/main/) is planning to hold a special event on May 12, a “Brief Tour of the History of D&D.” This is an adventure site that is divided into four sections, each of which will be two hours in length and run under a separate edition of Dungeons and Dragons, specifically: Advanced D&D, 2nd Edition, D&D 3.5, and 4th Edition. The story will be written by one of our members, Brett Abbott, but we’ll need some volunteers to fill in the details of the adventure. Specifically, we need a “Writer and Head GM” for the 2nd Edition and 3.5 sections of the adventure (we already have those positions filled for AD&D and 4e). Responsibilities will include:

* Creating the NPCs and other relevant elements for each of the encounters (as directed generally by the story);
* Serving as a consultant to assure that the correct “feel” of the edition is met by the story and encounters;
* Designing pre-generated player characters; and
* Serving as head DM for your assigned edition during the event, arbitrating any disputes of the rules if an when they arise.

The event will be held at Dream Wizards in Rockville, MD (http://www.dreamwizards.com/), but we’d like to use Skype to connect other sites throughout the country (or world, if you dare!). To that end, we’ll also need Remote Site Coordinators that can organize groups locally, arranging for a location, handling player and DM sign ups, setting up Skype on-site, distributing DM rewards, etc. Again, the date of the event will be May 12, 2012.

If you’re interested in volunteering in either capacity, please contact Brett Abbott (brett@weneedthexp.com) and Rob Bodine (rob@synDCon.net). Make sure to email both of us.

Actually, we'd like to set up remote sites via Skype, so not being in the DC area is irrelevant. Connecting the sites isn't important to the game itself, but we want to do it in order to test the process for other games (e.g., battle interactives) for which it is important. If you'd like to organize a game locally to you for May 12, let me know. If not, no worries. The adventure will be made available for everyone after that, and you can play it at your leisure. +Erik Nowak, a pro layout guy, will be doing the layout for the adventure PDF.

Just a quick note on our special event, a Brief Tour of the History of D&D. We're going to have to postpone it. It was originally scheduled for May 12, but it’s going to be pushed back until June. The good news is that this gives you plenty of time to clear your schedule and sign up either to play or to DM. For more information on the event, please visit the Gamers’ Syndicate page for the event at http://www.gamerssyndicate.net/main/DDTour. We’ll have a new date set by the end of this week (Friday, May 4).

Please note that if you want to run the event at your local game store outside the Washington, DC area, we can make arrangements for that. #DnD #RPG #ADnD

I'm still looking forward to this. I might have had to drop due to the date falling on Mother's Day weekend. Now I don't have to make that choice.

This has already been posted once, but we've received inquiries since then, so we thought we'd post it again:

Information has been spreading via word of mouth and Yahoo groups, but an official announcement is in order. As of now, some complications have kept management from running synDCon III this spring. Instead, we're looking at either moving synDCon to the fall (mid-October, maybe?) or simply skipping a year. Nevertheless, we want everyone to know that we're committed to holding synDCon 3, 4, and 1,000. Stay tuned. In order for synDCon III to go off in, for example, October, the announcement would have to occur by June, so expect an announcement (one way or the other) sometime in late spring or summer.

In the mean time, in addition to our regular LFR D&D game days, we're planning several other special events. Check out our site at http://www.gamerssyndicate.net/main/ for details on our LFR battle interactive (4/21), the "Brief Tour of the History of D&D" (5/12), and other special events as they're announced.

Happy gaming!
