Need some non-Android help. I'm looking for something for my office desk that I can hook both headphones and speakers up to from my iMac, but that allows me to either switch between each, or control the volume of each independently.

Was hoping there was some sort of compact receiver or switch or something, but I have had no luck finding that.

I'm using two Polk Audio TSi100 bookshelf speakers, so they do have banana plugs. Headphones, will change regularly, so they aren't really a factor.

Any ideas, audio gurus?

+Hayley Downs If the Page has been set up with its own Admin Login, use that to start the Hangout at least once. In fact, it's a good idea to log out of all accounts and log in using that special Page Login to make sure that everyone is properly connected and configured. It should let you know if there is an issue while attempting to launch. Also, go ahead and load each and every one of the Hangout Extensions or Apps that you plan to use to make sure that each is authorized by the Page Login.

Since a fellow Android personality is dropping insider Nexus rumors, but doing them slowly, let's see if we can help by speeding up the process a tad. :)

Here is what we have heard (though the news is at least a month old):

-Last date we were told that Google had penciled in for a Nexus 5, Kit Kat, other Nexus unveiling was October 31. Google rarely hits their dates, so don't get too tied to that date.

-The codename for the Google-made watch is "Gem," first mentioned here:  http://www.droid-life.com/2013/09/25/bigger-deal-new-nexus-phone-android-4-4-google-watch-or-something-else/

-There are two other potential Nexus devices in the works under the codenames "Sauron" and "Molly" that could arrive with the Nexus 5 and Kit Kat. I have no idea what they are. Could be a new Nexus 10 or something we haven't even thought of.

-Last, is Google working on Android@Home stuff finally? We have heard of two other potential "Nexus" type devices called "Leep" and "Shining" with TBD arrivals.

That is all. Rumors, just rumors. Things always change with Google and none of this could end up being official.

Very interesting. I could see myself using an NFC enabled ring if the price was very cheap.

Went to Ox for a birthday party, 6 people in our group, and had an amazing dinner. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the open fire pit that is filled with a variety of meats (steaks, sausages, etc.). The smell makes your mouth water instantly. We grabbed cocktails in the waiting area while tables were being pushed together for us. The cocktail menu rivaled any of those in Portland these days. You can tell that their bartender takes pride in what he is doing. High-end liquor mixed with interesting ingredients. I had the Rabid Mastiff with rye, egg, and bitters - highly recommended. For dinner, our group ate almost everything on the menu, so I'll list the things out with my thoughts on each: Starters - -Spicy octopus and beef tripe: Amazing, tender, juicy. Great bread dipper. -Smoked beef tongue: Probably my least favorite of the night. Too much horseradish and not enough tongue. Was sliced ultra thin, almost like a carpaccio. -Bruschetta (the one I didn't try, but everyone else seemed to enjoy) Dinner - -Ribeye: Rivals any steakhouse in Portland and trust me, I've been to them all. Cut like butter, was cooked perfectly, had enough fat to make it melt, and was sliced precisely to help tenderize it even more. -Skirt steak: Wife had this and it was also good, but no where near as good as the Ribeye. -Chorizo: Grabbed a chorizo sausage to snack-on on the side. Great chorizo which was not too hot or too overseasoned. -Blood sausage: Had a few bites of a blood sausage and liked it, however, it was a bit heavy on the cumin. -Others ate the Asado Argentino (2-person ultra-meat platter) and it came with all sorts of goodies. If you want a variety of great meats, go for this. Sides - -Sautéed mushrooms with foie gras: Yeah, they were amazing. How could they not be? -Roasted asparagus: Also well done, great flavors. -Yukon golds: Best side of the night. The horse radish aioli made them heavenly. Dessert - -Special dessert of the night was a rhubarb sorbet, fresh strawberries, and a chocolate crust. It might have been the best dessert I have ever had. I don't even remember what else they had on the menu, but if you go there, ask for this. Other thoughts - Be prepared to walk out of the restaurant smelling like a campfire. While the aromas from the woodfired grill are enjoyable during dinner, bringing them home in your hair, shirt and pants is not. If you plan on going out for the night after you eat, keep this in mind. Overall - We had a great time. The food was as good as many of the fine restaurants in Portland, the service was stellar, cocktails interesting enough, and the atmosphere quaint yet just right.
