I continue to keep my faith and because I believe in our Great Spirit...my voice has been heard. Yes, I did hear from Police Commissioner Ross office and to my amazing hero and she knows who she is!!! Thank you. I will keep you up to date...I believe this is the year for equal justice.

On January 29, 2016; i sent our new Commissioner Ross of the Philadelphia Police Department a email. I am still hoping for some response.
Dear Commissioner Ross,
Allow me the opportunity to introduce myself. I am a survivor and activist, (Against Officer Involved Domestic Violence.)
For over year now I have been supporting and helping a sister survivor by the name of Zulema De Valle. Sadly Ms. De Valle abuser is an Officer G. Fontanez, from the 25th District.
On March 2, 2016 Ms. De Valle will be in the court who has been trying for some time to receive permanent protection order from abuse. Officer Fontanez has tried on several occasions to pressure Ms. Zulema to drop her protection order.
Commissioner Ross there is an investigation with Internal Affairs as I write you. I am pleading for the opportunity to be able to go into further details in how difficult it has been for our sister survivor, abuse of power with some not all is so difficult for those who want to believe we can work together with our Police Department. We pray we can put a dent into Domestic Violence by police.
I know I am just one person but there are many more. I am reaching to you and praying we may be able to sit and discuss how many are still afraid to come forward.
I pray you will contact me.
Sincerely,
Rosaura Torres-Sadler - Author

The IACP Research Advisory Committee is proud to offer the monthly “Research in Brief” column. This column features evidence-based research summaries that highlight actionable recommendations for Police Chief magazine readers to consider within their own agencies.
The goal of the column is to feature research that is innovative, credible, and relevant to a diverse law enforcement audience.
The problem of violence within police families—commonly referred to as officer-involved domestic violence (OIDV)—has been recognized as an important issue. The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) promulgated a model policy on OIDV in 1999 and a revised policy in 2003. The IACP characterized OIDV as a problem that exists at some serious level and deserves attention.1 There are no comprehensive statistics on OIDV.

The purpose of the research is to provide data on violence within police families. Our research identifies incidents in which police were arrested for criminal offenses associated with an incident of violence within the family, domestic violence, or both.2 Our primary goal is to provide information on actual OIDV cases to

further initiatives designed to mitigate the problem.

I accompanied my daughter because she heard the same advertisement on the radio....First we sat for several hours waiting for a sales person. For a 2013 mini van with 41,000 miles and no alarm, cloth seating and the vehicle fired back, would you believe they wanted $23,000 dollars for the van. Shame on this dealership and your false advertisement. I must applauded my daughter, because her friend advised her Buddy Matt, to have her older brother George, run the car through Kelley Blue Book and the car was only valued between 18,000 - 16,000. I am so proud of my daughter....Mami did not raise no dummy!!!
