Yraida Guanipa Institute, Inc., was formed to re-established; protect and nurture the parent/child bond, bonds of caring, feeling, trust and love for each other after long years of separation due to incarceration which affects disadvantaged people. In many instance mothers have had limited or no contact with their child for a matter of five, ten even fifteen or more years. After many years of lock up mothers are ill equipped to deal with this grown up child, the child is resentful for having been left behind. This program would provide much needed structured help, tailored individually to all parties involved to learn to trust and love each other again. The benefit would be happier families, fewer mothers becoming repeat offenders and together mother and child/children learning to become a contributing member of society Another mission is to conduct a research/study of children separated from their parents to recognize what helped them to become success in their lives. For a period of five years closely monitor the progress or lack of in each case. Find what works and why also what doesn’t and why to made the disadvantaged children become contributing member of our society.
