Introduction
I've been writing children's books and meditating ever since I met and interviewed the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet. We met in India after I took a trip to Tibet with my mother. That meeting altered my mind and led me on further journeys to Asia where I trekked with Sir Edmund Hillary to the Everest region of Nepal and then interviewed Nobel laureate Aung San Suu Kyi in Burma. These great leaders all became subjects of my children's books.
These days, since Hurricane Katrina, I stay closer to home and write books on American subjects. I still meditate and go off for adventures in the USA, Costa Rica, and Europe. Galloping on horseback through the rainforest may be just as mind-changing as trekking in Tibet.

Kindness and empathy are sister stars in the constellation of a positive life, as are generosity, altruism, gentleness, gratitude and the brightest star of all, love. In this essay, Professor John Snyder reflects on the importance of kindness as emphasized by various religions and petitions us to be kind to one another. Mark your calendar for Random Acts of Kindness Week, February 10-...

I have worked with this office for over fifteen years and find the employees to be helpful, efficient, straightforward, and hard-working. They handle my home-owners, flood, and three-car insurance policies.
