Drink is a wonderul salon style bar made for the ever growing popular hipster crowd. Located below Sportello in the Seaport District and across the street from Lucky's, this hidden gem is quitely popular with locals but unknown to tourists. The bartenders are dressed like they are in era of the speakeasy. There are no name brand bottles decorating the walls. Instead you find small metal chairs around a wooden bar with glass label free bottles and fresh fruit in bowls. The rest of the bar standing room only. Serves small bar bites but the interesting concoctions is what they are known best for producing. Best for first, 5th or 10th date!

Drink can come off a little snooty, but that's probably because everyone who works here takes their craft seriously -- you can taste it in the high quality of their drinks. Tell the bartender what flavor profile you're craving, and they'll create something that satisfies it. And if their first try doesn't quite meet your expectations, they'll keep experimenting with concoctions until they succeed. The food is good, too -- this IS a Barbara Lynch joint, after all -- and, if you're hungry, I recommend trying for one of the few burgers they make per day (story has it they only make 15) and/or getting the fries and bone marrow. My favorite thing about Drink is being able to have a smart conversation with the bartenders, and not having to fight people to get to the bar. The reason there's a line out the door is because they want to make sure it doesn't get too crowded to enjoy yourself once you're inside, so they are judicious about capping occupancy in the bar. If you'd rather be cramped and screaming above a crowd as long as you're indoors, this isn't the place for you. But if you're in Boston and want a great cocktail and great bar food in an environment you can also carry a good conversation in, head to Drink!

Fantastic drinks without a menu / ever improving bar bites selection / engaging bar staff / arrive early and saddle up for a ride on the never ending cocktrail / avoid the wait when possible

Stylish, yes. Good food, yes. Innovative drinks... think twice. I was so excited to try this spot-- I love Barbara Lynch/Gruppo's other establishments and this is right up my alley. We moved to Boston from NYC just a few months earlier and our friend was visiting from NYC and we were excited to go see what kinds of cocktails we might get! We waited in the line, were escorted to our spot and waited... for a LONG time. When the waitress finally asked about what we like in our cocktails, all three of us gave different descriptions. We ordered a few bites and waited. Two of us got the exact same mai tai style cocktail-- although one requested citrus/cucumber refreshing and the other asked for lighter fruity and sweet. I asked for a savory, spicy or smoky cocktail and got some martini style drink. No spice, no smoke. Ok.. so we thought perhaps we didn't give enough options and ordered a second round. The first reiterated that he wanted something with cucumber, the second asked for sweeter and I asked for spicy. Again, two of the three drinks were identical and none of the drinks were that good. It's an interesting concept-- but the staff needs more training. I've had many bartenders "create" a drink for me and this was the WORST drink. For a place that prides themselves on no menu-- I think they might need more training or perhaps to scrap the concept. Otherwise, food was good.

A bar call Drink without a sign outside?! Interesting! If you are on a bridge, go below and cross the street. And if you see Sordello, you are pretty much there! Free Coat rack is in the front by the reception and two individual bathrooms are available here. Standing and seating area is arranged by the receptionist meaning you can't just walk in and go to the bar. If you don't want to get your hands cut off, go see the receptionist! Within the three islands of bar, there's plenty of bartenders to take care of you and your drinks. The only menu available here is the bite size appetizers that barely fills you. There's no menu for the drinks, so either let your bartender know your order or tell them what you want. Give them your best descriptions and desire! My drinks: Bohemian (St Germain, Gin, grapefruit juice): refreshing, pink, and easy to drink. Ramos Gin Fizz (Gin, Egg Whites): tall glass with a taste of lightness, the frothiness is creamy and lemony Bee's Knee (Honey, Gin, Fresh Lemon juice): refreshing, sweet gin Pisco Sour (Egg Whites): frothy, sour, and light. The drinks above were all delicious! The most unique one was the Ramos Gin Fizz, it's a must get! The bartender really took about 5 mins to just make this drink...I love the care and detail they go through. Drinks average about $12-15. I would not recommend this place for a first date, but it's a great place to meet up with friends with the nice and casual settings at Drink. Can't wait to come back again, cheers!

Their attraction is that they specialize in cocktails but have no cocktail menu. You are supposed to describe the type of drink you would like and they will make it for you. A great way to try some new cocktails. Also very good food. They also serve a certain number of burgers every night and they are very good. Be warned everything, food and drink, is pretty pricey.

It's an institution and you need to go at least once in Boston. The line can be pretty long, but they'll take your name down and you can wander off until the estimated time. There's a food menu (that's pretty good, this is after all a Barbara Lynch bar) but no cocktail menu. Tell the bartender what you like - either a specific cocktail or the types of spirits/flavors you want. Which also meant I can't read a menu and go "wow, I would've never thought of this-or-that" as I would at a different type of bar, but they're bound to be solid cocktails and you'll have a great time.

I think this place is great, but not worth the wait. Boston is years too late to innovative, custom, cocktail lounges. This was one of the first and always has a long line on weekend nights. The drinks are good and you can order anything you want and the bartenders whip up cool custom cocktails for your pallet. The food is actually surprisingly good. The space is nice, raw wood, areas to stand around and never gets too crowded you feel cramped. The help can be a bit snooty but comes with the cocktail lounge territory. There are other places in Boston that you can get great custom drinks with no wait.

Drink hasn't shared anything with you.

People are more likely to share with you if you add them to your circles.
