Advice, I seek advice for a noble cause! Let all who hear my voice rally round and offer up thy knowledge!
(Ok, a little over the top? lol)
David Louin originally shared:

I am starting a new private school for Asperger's and high functioning autism students, primarily elementary, at least at first. I am currently the headmaster of a school similar in scope. I have a talent and a passion for working with students with certain "talents" and the parents have been grateful at what I have been able to accomplish.

I tend to blather on about what I do because I enjoy it so. So much so that several people come to realize my passion is genuine and deep and, so, they are helping me realize my dream.

I have a location, a financial backer (modest in means,) and the acting head of department of education at a good sized university acting as adviser.  (I have been amazed at the support I have received in my own community.)

I am fairly certain I need better seed money to ensure survival the first year as I build up the student body.

My question for the crowd here is this: Should I use Kickstarter or something similar and appeal for support?

I have never done this before and I am unsure if Kickstarter is even the place to try.

I am open to any and all advice or direction in this.

This weekends project. Primed and painted a replacement fender for my 96 Volvo 850 (w/226k miles!) Monday I install it, buff it, and wax it. As fender was a swap, the only cost has been the labor and $10 worth of paint. The Backyard Mechanic strikes again!

There are times I wish I knew more about the technical aspects of photography. I know I could have done a better job with the exposure, but I am glad it came out as well as it did.

The finished fender installed. Just missing one $15 (on eBay) bit of plastic on the front. Now to find a buyer!

Typical Monday.

I feel motivated to do something meaningful, to write something worthwhile, but I don’t have a clue as to what... much less where to begin.

I suppose I should concentrate on my work, but my students are all on task and none need any help right now.

I’ve eaten my usual bowl of reasonably high fiber cereal soaked in my guilty pleasure of chocolate soy milk. I try to kick start my brain with heart palpitating, double strength coffee, but it only grows cold as I linger over it trying to seek solace in it.

The weather outside is making the point that winter, such as it is here in Houston, is finally upon us. I stare out the window at the grey skies. Even the rain is indecisive, vacillating between a light drizzle and the occasional sudden downpour.

Existence seems to be on hold while some feckless god decides what will become of it.

And in the midst of it I sit, staring at a blank screen, trying to will words upon it.

The only thing I seem capable of generating is melancholic poetry... so I guess the morning isn’t a total loss.

As I mentioned to +Terence Towles Canote a few minutes ago, my daughter and I have a theory on next season's Doctor Who story arc.

We are thinking one of the threads may be about the question raised throughout last season, the question that is "hidden in plain sight." "Doctor Who?" It's been dangled before us all season and was reemphasized by Dorium Maldovar as the Doctor left him in the last episode. The Doctor looked to him and gave him his "enigmatic, but you might be right" look, before turning and heading out without comment.

I think (well, or hope) there will be more to do with his apparently having revealed his name, but I don't expect a lot of story that delves into the classic era, related to the Time Lord hierarchy and his place in it. Although, I think that would be super cool.

I needed some distance from the latest series, as I was beginning to resent the focus on Amy and Rory, even though I like them. I think it's time to run through it again, along with the previous one, to watch the loops forming.
