On Saturday 4/12/14 I took my sister (her first time, my second time) to Sake Express.Having just discovered Sake Express in Belmont a week before I was excited to take my sister who has nursed me back to health for weeks on what wast to be the best meal I ever bought for her!(Well, so I thought)!The week before my experience at the Belmont location was so overwhelmingly good, I ranted and raved about it on facebook for days.When my sister came from SC I didnt even want to tell her where we were going or what her meal was going to be.(I was going to order the very same thing I had before)Filet with scallops and mixed vegetables) $20.00 each.I told my sister"Go get a both, I'll order)I gave my order to a very nice young girl who was in training and supervised while she took my order. I had her repeat it so I knew it would be correct and she did.A few minutes later our plates arrived and my heart sunk! Neither of us can eat rice and that is EXACTLY what they sent us.I politely explained it tp the waitress and explained "If they just scrape the rice off and cook new veggies, then all the Au Jus(those excellent pan juices" would be lost and the steak would be cold and dry" She said "Oh no sir I'll tell them to redo it all' A little while later here came our plates.Hot delicious veggies and cold steak and scallops that were bone dry.Cause they didnt start over. I asked to speak to the Mgr. and calmly expressed to her this entire event just as as I've written it here.Her "remedy" was a "free desert" I said "No, we don"t eat deserts" I said "Why not give us what we ordered at the price we paid and give me a break on the cost of a "California plater to go"?(a $5.99 cent value) She sais"Oh no, I can't change the price of sushi thats not allowed" I said well I've purchased$40.00 worth of food that does not meet your own standards, so you need to do something"She said "I''ll be back" a bit later she returned and said"This is the best I can do,heres a $10.00 gift certificate you can use at any of our locations if you don't want to come back here" And I said "So your just reducing the cost by $5.00 a meal on 2 meals?" She said "Sorry sir, have a nice day"!Daaaang!!!

i love Sake i would have to say that it is my favorite restaurant! their food is always fresh and warm and tasty! the dining is fine and fabulous. Also, u get the quality of food and service going through the drive- through as you would dining in. quick, fresh, and DELICIOUS! i recommend this restaurant to EVERYONE

Racist, Racist,Racist. had a friend who was hired on. first day she got trained for 2 hours and they put her on the floor immediately. anyone who knows this sake knows how busy they are all day. they laughed at her and put her down constantly because she didn't quite have a handle on it. they speak in japanese so you dont know what they are saying. oh, and someone needs to call the department of labor because they only give you a 20 minute break for a 12 hour shift. will not be eating here again ever i will not support prejudice people in my town. i will tell everybody i know not to support these people. P.S. hope you like your shrimp sauce that comes in a TRASH CAN. just add water.

Ordered two children's teriyaki chicken with sauce on the rice @ 4:50pm. I picked it up via the drive-thru. When I got home to serve them dinner, the food wasn't fresh at all. There was no sauce on the rice, the veggies were limp and the chicken tasted old. I was quite surprised because I visit often during lunchtime and the food is ALWAYS very good. In fact, I drive my family from South Charlotte on the weekends to have lunch. So, it must really be tastey. When I called back to speak to a manager, the guy that answered told me they were all busy and couldn't come to the phone, sorry. Wow, really! I was able to make a complaint the next day and the manager put my name down to have my order made again. Great, service recovery! I do still recommend this establishment for dining, the staff is friendly, the menu is accommodating (low carb items), it is clean and kid friendly. Perhaps, I will no longer use the drive-thru.

The food is pretty good but the enthusiasm of the staff makes the difference. They truly seem to enjoy their jobs and it's always pleasant to visit.
