We had some quest visit and we went to see the WaterFire show. We wanted something simple to eat where we could accommodate everyone and a small child. My wife went in to check the place out to see if we should go in and be seated. She came out shortly after and said, "let's find some place else." Every item was priced $20 or more and it was an average place. If you're looking for something simple and good go right next door to The Wild Colonial. They have good food and drinks at a fair price and are accommodating to their patrons.

Really good italian tapas. Can be loud at times but otherwise a great experience.

Disappointing service. Lackluster food. Bad timing (aka coffee was served after dessert). If you are trying to be al forno's at least have the same caliber of service. No management walking around the restaurant to see how the experience was. Totally not worth the money.

Bacaro is one of my favorite restaurants, and I love the food, the service, and the ambiance. I especially love that I can get similar, and to my tastes, better, pizza than at Al Forno, but without the wait and the pretense. The entire menu is fabulous. I will say, that similar to another reviewer, I was there for my birthday in April and although my boyfriend requested it on the phone when he made a reservation and when we came in and spoke with the hostess, I did not get a candle in my dessert. It was interesting that a girl at a table near ours did successfully get her birthday candle! We go to Bacaro with some frequency, but will go tomorrow for my boyfriend's birthday...I'm hoping the candle situation works out! Either way, we know the food will be amazing.

Oh my, what a delicious experience. I had the roasted duck-leg and breast. And their home-made ice cream... Rigo was my waiter. What a pleasant charm he was!

Bacaro serves an array traditional Italian dishes, but their specialty and the one reason to go there is the huge selection of antipasti, from cured meats to cheeses to a wide array of small vegetable dishes. Tick what you want from the menu or pick one of the pre-selected platters, and be prepared for an overdose of flavors. The wine list is commensurate with the food selection, and the staff will help you pick the proper match if you ask. Homemade desserts on demand are really excellent. Beware however, that this comes with a hefty price. It is very easy to go over a $100 / person bill. For special occasions only! Note: the restaurant also doubles as a deli for meats and cheeses, and those come surprisingly cheap! A good alternative to shopping on Federal Hill.

Food was good - some of it very good But the service was dreadful. Waitress appeared not to care. Just wanted to hassle for the desert before we had our main course. And no manager came to see if the meal was ok. Even at the door on the way out, they hardly seemed to care. Strange place

I cannot attest to the food at this restaurant as my husband and I were refused service after being judged "unworthy" by the snooty hostess. We went there for dinner on a Saturday and the restaurant was more than half empty. A group of four was in front of us to be seated and they were taken in without reservations. When it was our turn we were told that the restaurant was completely booked despite the fact that while we were speaking with the hostess a couple that was seated had to leave before eating since the restaurant did not have any high chairs for children. We were told that we could sit at the bar and that one of the couples at the bar should be moving soon since they had a table. Since we were rather hungry, we decided to stand and wait for the space at the bar. Unfortunately, just as the couple got up to leave, another couple walked in the door, walked right past us and sat down at the seats. Instead of saying anything, the hostess and the bartenders warmly welcomed this new couple and continued to completely ignore my husband and I. If this is the incompetent way they run their restaurant, I can't imagine that the food is all that impressive. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
