John Squires MD - Denver Plastic Surgeon - Breast Augmentation -Reliable information you will not find on Twitter, Tumbler or Pinterest. Breast augmentation continues to be the most popular cosmetic procedure in America. Over 300,000 women had breast augmentation in the US in 2013 and the trend is expected to increase. Since their re-release in 2006, silicone implants have dominated the landscape. The solid Gummy Bear implants have been marketed heavily but have not achieved wide acceptance because they are firmer than the traditional silicone and have a higher risk of complications. Stay tuned for updates about other techniques and implants on the horizon.

Illegal cut -rate buttock injections have killed at least 10 American women last year. 17 have died in Venezuela. Nightline Prime  will air the story and video tonight on ABC. It will focus on the importance of using fully trained board certified plastic surgeons and avoid cut-rate back-alley procedures by shady wanna be operators.

World's lightest breast implants invented

A revolutionary new breast implant - the lightest ever created - is designed to avoid the kind of sagging that can occur after time with conventional cosmetic breasts.
The new implants, called B-Lite, weigh 30 per cent less than any others on the market.
Up to now, implants have been made of weighty silicone gel or a saline water solution.
The new type consists of a silicone shell filled with minute balls of silicate, a solid form of silicone gel, but much lighter.
Nearly 40 Israeli women have already been fitted with the new breasts and say they hardly notice they are there.
The new implants have been given European 'CE Mark' approval but are not FDA approved for use in The United States.

It is so gratifying to have awesome patients like this
A patient of ours just posted this to RealSelf
"At this point, I'm 15 days post-op from having a breast augmentation with Dr. Squires. Many years ago, I was so shy about my breast size that I wore a large sweatshirt everyday (even in the summer) just so I wouldn't get made fun of. I contribute a large part of my extreme social anxiety to having very small breasts. I saved up for years and years for my BA and finally got to the point of my life that I was physically, financially, and emotionally ready. I have a small frame 5'2, 125 lbs; but my chest is wide. I chose to go with 425cc Mod+ implants. Dr. Squires and the staff were very open to my suggestions. My surgery went wonderfully and I've had hardly any pain or discomfort. It was so different than what I was expecting. I was so scared! If I had to do it over again I would say - yes, yes, yes!"

Thanks for the kind words

Patients ask "Can I breast feed after having breast implants?"

Patients frequently are concerned that they will not be able to breast feed after having breast implants. Board certified Denver Colorado plastic surgeon John Squires MD says that "In the vast majority of cases, there is no problem with breast feeding.  With current techniques, the implant is inserted under the muscle and there is no trauma to the breast tissue. In the rare instances where there is nipple numbness, Oxytocin will allow normal milk let down."
