Come join me this afternoon for #CMGRHangout
I want you to imagine a community that is completely disconnected from the company it is associated with. It is floating on its own, with no way of getting the thoughts and feelings of the masses to the appropriate person. All of the people that are creating amazing content talking about the brand don’t get any recognition and they fall to the wayside. The entire community is a bundle of potential energy that will never be transformed into kinetic energy. The c-suite continues to just do what they think is best and they will be wrong more often than not. There is a need for someone to step up. Someone to be on the inside. The megaphone of the masses. The voice of the community. The peoples champion. Every single community needs one, they holds everyone together. Raising morale, giving credit and getting things done. They are the people’s champion.

This week we have those champions, some of which were nominees for our #CMAD “peoples champion” award. Join us for #CMGRHangout on Friday, March 13th at 2PM EST to talk with those that rise up as the heroes their communities deserve.

+Jonathan Brewer, +Emma Cunningham and +Dom Garrett will be hosting the hangout with +David DeWald, +Stacey Miller, +Sharri Morris and +Katrina Steffensen as panelists. +Carrie Keenan and +Sarah Nagel will be moderating the Twitter chat using #CMGRHangout.

Discussion Questions

1. Why do we want to advocate for the community?
2. What are some benefits of advocating for your community?
3. How do you feel you have made a difference?
4. What are some difficulties of being that mouthpiece for the community?
5. How do you set up a working system to get inquiries to you?
6. What are some tips for translating info to the c-suite?
7. What is your favorite story of empowering the community?
8. What makes a good community advocate?

Ten years into the social marketing boom, many executives are still going about social strategy backward: picking technologies such as Facebook or Twitter first instead of focusing on what they want to accomplish. In this session, guest Forrester Research, VP and Principal Analyst, Nate Elliott will introduce the POST process, a systematic, four-step method for crafting your social strategy, and explain how it can drive success for health care marketers.

Attend the free webinar with guest Nate Elliott, VP and Principal Analyst at Forrester Inc. on Tuesday, November 16, 2014 at 2:00 pm ET to learn:

How to understand your audience's social behaviors and preferences - not just how much they use social, but how they use social to engage with companies and brands.

How to define social objectives that drive real value for your business, rather than just collecting fans and followers.

How to pick the right social strategies and technologies for your company and its unique audience and objectives.
