Trade in ICT goods, 2015
Global imports of ICT goods in 2015: 2.1 Trillion US $ (3% less than in 2014).
Developing economies represent a growing export market for communication equipment.

#Fact International Trade in Creative Goods, 2015
In 2015, the value of trade in creative products amounted to 510 billion US dollars, 67 billion less than in 2014.
Only eight out of the twenty main exporters of creative goods are developing economies.

#Fact Commodity Price Indices - December 2016
Growth of the UNCTAD commodity price index:
Month-on-month: -0.5% Year-on-year: 12.4%
Free-market prices of basic food items continued declining.
Prices of tropical beverages recorded a sudden drop (-8%).

#Fact Transport services exports dropped by estimated 4% during the 3rd quarter 2016 at the world level.
The highest decrease (6%) is observed in Asia. However, it mainly refers to leading Asian exporters.
Some Asian countries recorded hefty increases in their transport exports (India and Indonesia).

#Fact World services exports grew by an estimated 1.6 % in the 3rd quarter 2016.
While the international sales of tansport remained below the 2015 levels, travel and other services exports expanded by some 3 % between June and October 2016, in year-on-year percentage change terms.

A surge in prices of minerals, ores and metals (+13%) made the commodity price index go up by 2%.

Growth of the UNCTAD commodity price index:
Month-on-month: 2%
Year-on-year:12%

Prices for food continued falling (-3%).

November 22 and 23, Ouagadougu, Burkina Faso:
UNCTAD and the Statistical Commission of the Union Economique et Monétaire Ouest Africaine renew their commitment to work together to improve the collection of Trade-in-Services statistics in that region. A revised work plan was agreed over a two day meeting.

December 12 to 16, 2016, Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire:
Following the successful workshop in Dakar, Senegal in September 2016, UNCTAD and the Statistical Commission of the Union Economique et Monétaire Ouest Africaine held the second in a series of joint workshops with statisticians from the National Statistical Institutes, Central Banks and Trade Ministries of the eight member states. This workshop was designed to develop a harmonized questionnaire for the collection of Trade-in-Services statistics and included visits to several services enterprises to discuss aspects of the questionnaire with them.
